It was noted a while ago that Caroona stn is for sale, so is Worlds End stn.

I'm looking at buying a new (to me) boomspray, and was looking through the upcoming clearing sales when I saw the upcoming sale at Worlds End.

Nothing for me, but there's some old motorbikes, trucks & cars that may interest someone.

I hate clearing sales, usually full of people with nothing better to do than pick over the bones of someone's farming history.

Very sad indeed, all I see when I look thru the items for sale is the end of a dynasty.

And in so many cases, an entire way of doing things....it is sad. A thousand stories right there in that auction, and no-one will ever hear them

The missus thinks she wants to visit opal territory. We're a Kiwi/Welsh couple with lots of road and dirt experience, and will be in NZ for much of the earlier part of 2013. I was vaguely thinking of flying into Adelaide then doing a trip up the Stuart and back, in an ideal world on rented bikes.

Can any of you fine chaps point me in the direction of a good bike rental place in Adelaide- she normally rides a VFR800, me a 1200GS. Would the journey be an OK one or just really boring? Would it be worth going further up to Alice?
We both like the desert, and so far haven't ever been anywhere that's been too hot for us.

    Would appreciate any input.

And yes, I know the sheep will be very nervous.

I think he found my Tenere with the Leo Vince cans (baffles out) a little deafening the other day Wayne.

No earplugs for me Gasman, I love the noise a well set-up exhaust can make, cars, bikes, anything! Standing in the pits at Bathurst in the old days of Group C was music to my ears, and the note from the back of the Ten touring over the Oodnadatta Track last month was magic - love it. :evil

    Hi folks,

Just wondering if anyone has ridden Skytrek (Willow Springs Station) at all, and if it's worth doing. I've done it in a 4WD, but not for 10 years, and can't remember much detail of it.

I realise back in April they had to re-route part of the trek (bypassing Mt Carnarvon) due to issues with the access to the Rock Wallaby reserve, but nonetheless, anyone got any thoughts?

Just seeing if there's any others planning to come up (to the Flinders) on these dates(Wed Nov 14, to 18). There's about 4-6 so far, and we're looking at putting the bikes on trailers for the trip up.

If you're thinking of coming and might need a spot on a trailer, let me know when you can (PM me).

Rough plan so far :deal includes staying at Angorichina, and doing the nearby PAR's, and then a couple of other options also, depending on what anyone else wants to throw into the hat.
