You can probably solve the bogging and engine stalling problem by looking under your skid plate for a hose coming off your bike that has a plug and a clip on it. Remove that plug. Nobody seems to know what it does other than cause bikes to stall. I think the plug is supposed to prevent fuel leakage during shipping or something.

Regarding voltage, there is a fix that eliminates the AC/DC voltage switching it to DC only. The stator and regulator are replaced. I had Dave Turner at Get Dirty Dirt Bikes do this for my bike. He has since developed a plug and play version. I've gone through a whole lot of batteries and recommend using a battery tender. I've tried lead acid batteries, stock and aftermarket. Have had 3 different versions of Lithium Ion batteries. Right now I'm using the EarthX battery and like that one the best. Now if I can just ride enough or keep the battery on the battery tender......

Update - issue appears to be solved !

The hose from the petcock (tank) to the carb was long enough to have an slight upward curl in it (and was tucked under the frame), hence this was inhibiting fuel flow to the carb - as this is gravity dependant !
I changed the angle/path the hose takes to the carb, so that there is only a slight upward path (near flat), and the majority of it is now a downward slope to the carb's fuel input, with the carb fuel input now pointing straight upwards.
Gravity is now doin its thing, and she didnt stall once today !

    Thanks all !

Bike needs nothing (seriously). I added a bar riser, some hand guards, and a GL Mohavi bag, and thats it !

rekluse core exp clutch and racetech gold valves on it. plus a few little other things. i've already eyed a few goodies from the beta web site. i've always done an aftermarket exhaust on all my other bikes, but probably won't on this one. i'll come back to this post in a few months and see.....

Smaller countershaft sprocket if riding something other than desert.

You might adjust those handguards to a level/ground position. If you hit anything like they are now they will have no strength and rotate . Not good. They actually protect nothing as they are now.

The pic/angle may exaggerate it some, but they are protecting the levers, and the master cylinders (As I ride standing, hence the levers are angled downward). Tested by repeated dropping :norton. They're tight enough that they wont spin. Straightening them out simply means broken levers when she goes down, As I've found that most handguards offer only minimal protection, in that a serious get off will result in bent bars, or worse.

    Thanks.

    Hello all,

New owner of a 2009 525 RR here. The bike has around 1600 miles on it, anything specific I should check? Was the bike well greased from the factory or should I tear her apart and grease everything? I will be checking the valve clearance, changing oil/filters also.

Is there anything to be gained by going to a JD Jet kit versus stock?

Also, I've been looking for new plastics for the thing but cannot find any, only graphic kits. Does American Beta carry 09 plastics?

Thanks all! I will have pics soon!
