Yo Superman-- sounds anal, but i'm a convert to proper non-serrated non-worm-drive FI line clamps. The worm-drive type do eat up the exterior of a FI hose. Use the solid-band clamps if at all possible.

When i had my '96 11GS tank off in February for filter r/r, i used chinese :bluduh FI clamps from A-Zone only b/c i did'nt have time to run down the regional Wurth guy to make an order. Quality of the asian blister-pack stuff was OK though

I did not replace any hose in that operation, as it all looked good and had been replaced by the bike's PO 50k back. Poolside gives a totally anal report on why factory immersible hose is the best in GSpot. I have local sources for equivalent shit, but just did'nt have time to source it out. It may be faster just to order a few feet of correct line from Max etc. As you've seen, not all 'FI-rated' hose is created equal

Pump whine: some did that from birth/Berlin and go well past 100K+ w/o issue. Mine (114K this week) only whines when i'm radically low on gas

Take a look at the fine mesh intake sock on the bottom of the pump, and look for tears. If it's torn it's letting in sediment and inner tank liner/primer (which i found to be flaking off inside my tank bigtime :nod). If that sock is torn, pump life will be drastically reduced. Have a drink before you price that sock :dood

    Good luck mang

Hey guys, I spent a week in Singapore and Malaysia. No bike though.

In the Asia regional there was a Singapore ride on Friday to Malay but could not secure a bike.. oh well.

    Went to the beach instead.

Miss you all. Planning a visit to Florida perhaps next month.:clap
