Easy I know Mike - He's an awesome guy that knows rugby very well, he's been involved since high school daze. No matter who coaches the Eagles, its tough to get guys who are experienced as players from the bigger rugby countries. Bottom line is the USA has way too many sports that rank higher in appeal than rugby. Sad really, as I think it's one of the best sports in the world. Some areas of the country have grown the youth programs, Bucks Cty, Pa. & NYC prep schools have always had teams are 2 in particular that I'm aware of.
Problem growing at the youth level in US is liability. Too many lawyers, too few ropes. They are already after football and that is protected. Little Johnny cannot play, without a helmet, a contact game.
Hmmm - I think if U took the helmets away from football, there would be less head injuries & lots of peeps agree. Cause Ya got to>>> <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/R0IUR4gkPIE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
ETA - I'm fortunate enough to live in Baltimore, where there's a really good rugby program (next Old Boys game, Sept 14th, woop woop!). I know they're trying to grow a foundation to promote youth rugby, and at least one high school has a team.
So what chance have the Argies against the Wallabies? The Pumas pushed the All Black scrum around at times - if they repeat that, the Aussies could be in trouble.
I think the Pumas are going to get the crap kicked out of them the entire tournament (I'm actually surprised they scored against NZ), but my hope is that the Argies will go home angry and come out next year ready to eat lead & spit nails.
All Blacks v. Springboks on Saturday. NZ hasn't lost a game at Eden Park since 1994 (they were beaten by the Yaapies). The Springboks are on a 10 game winning streak and look the form team. What's yer pick?
Dreadful officiating by Romain Poite. Boks had the measure of them. Even the commentators were saying there was no foul on BOTH yellow cards for Bizzie. Disgusting. In other news, his application for New Zealand citizenship has been fast tracked...
I like Poite and surprised if he had a 'mare. I've come down to Sandy Park for my first match of the Premiership season this afternoon; Exeter Chiefs v Wasps. Looking forward to it. Going to try to get to as many away matches as I can this season.
they are long over due for a Sanzar scalp. Boks extreemly hard done with the two yellows on DuPlessis. I would havd tipped the Boks had Poite not cocked that up. good to know the Kiwis are just about as fed up with Nonu as we all have been, if anyone deserved a red today it was him.
