I couldnt find a promo code that worked either and since nobody posted anything new on this thread here is what I did. I called Spot and politely explained I know they have codes available at times for free tracking but I dont have the time to search one down. I will be happy to re-activate my Spot2 now over the phone at regular $99 annual rate if they give me tracking for free. If no free tracking then I will not be renewing now or ever again (which was 100% true also) Lady said hold the line and went to ask her supervisor. Came back and said yes she could do it. While still on the phone with her I purchased the basic service online. She advised me to log out of my account, added tracking for free and when I logged back in tracking was added to my account.

Probably wont work for everyone but worth a try. My Spot had been unactivated for almost a year so maybe that weighed in some.

For Spot 1 and 2, service is $99, basic tracking is $49 extra. The code gets you the basic tracking for free.

You need to choose the basic tracking upgrade, then use the code.

There isn't much to it. Only stumbling block I found was using the adventure feature. I couldn't figure out how to get the tracks to download due to the way their menu reads. Finally figured it out after asking them for help. They responded within a reasonable time. Suggest you go to their site (findmespot.com) and read the FAQs. While its easy, there's far too much for me to type out on here. Maybe someone else will.

I read that the tracks feature doesn't work well with just alkaline batteries. I used only lithium and mine worked fine. Set yourself up a couple messages and a SPOT Shared Page and go test it out.

DON'T test out the SOS button though!! Your emergency responders will NOT be happy.

In trying to use the PCFTRACKSPOT code over the phone to renew a subscription with the free tracking they wanted to know where I got the code. So what company/website can I tell them offered this code?

I just used the code "PCFTRACKSPOT" and it worked, free tracking for a year.

If you're trying to do it over the phone, tell them the website is pointclickfish.com, that's where I first saw the code.
