Been up it a number of times by motorcycle...Always enjoyable but a teensie intimidating the first time. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
I took my Ducati up there last year with some friends. I found it to be incredibly frustrating as I was constantly on the clutch stuck behind some cager. Maybe you just need to be first in line when the road opens
Went up in Aug 2012. My plan was get there early to beat the clouds. Backfired! Was heading for VT for the weekend by 1Pm the clouds cleared. This is at 8:30 you can barley see the bike on the right. Not too bad below the top. Five hours later heading for Stowe VT!
I've been hiking and riding motorcycles most of my life. I've hiked Mt Wahington many times, summer and winter, but never been up there on a motorcycle. One reason is traffic. I've heard that riding is painful when you get stuck behind a slow moving 4-wheeler. Is that tue? Is passing possible?
After a few aborted attemps to go up due to crap weather we finally hit the right day. A hot and sunny 88 degrees at the base, 57 degrees at the summitt. Not a tough decision!
Here is a video I shot as well, <iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/52043621" webkitallowfullscreen="" mozallowfullscreen="" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="281" width="500"></iframe> 2012-08-03 Ride Mount Washington from Dualsport.ca on Vimeo.
A perfect time for a ride up - sun and no wind. It rained and was cloudy the whole 4 days I was in the area. Cleared up the day I was heading for Maine and couldn't pass it up.
How do we know you didn't make that sign and set this up in your backyard during a storm??? Seriously though, well done!
