Take the Yamal. This trip is taylor-made for Urals. I see you're already in NE Alberta so I'd definitely go sidecar. co_g30, if you decide to go through Spokane rather than Seattle (I-5 ugh!) I have a well equipped shop, spare bedroom, BBQ and beer.
If you pass through Port Townsend you will be welcome to stay in my guest cabin. You can use my shop for maintenance or mods Gary

Sounds good, but you're welcome anytime. BTW, it seems like mid April might be a little early for heading north ... ? A friend in Anchorage says they got about 15" of snow a few days ago. Heated clothing?
Well, as I am moving at URAL speed, I don't expect to reach Fairbanks till late April so it should be fine. Yes, I have a heated vest and grips. Have ridden in -14F with no issues.
On the way back I would suggest hitting the Top of the World Highway from Tok, AK to Dawson City, YT. It was a blast. Do watch the weather. A friend went up there early in the year and got rained on for 13 of 16 days he was up there. You'll love it up there. I did when I went. Mike
Co_g30 We're going to have a Memorial day weekend camp out/ get together with some sidecarest in Talkeetna Alaska your more then welcome. Right after that I'm plannng a trip to Prince of Wales Island 2500 mile of mixed road and you can jump right on the ferry to get back to Seattle
