It's the way it is...beautiful exhausts are nearly always asymmetric.. the way pipes curl and run together...the 400F would be just another in-line 4 without it.
From the rear though...symmetric twin outlets nearly always look better.

A low 2 into 1 does has my interest for the future... but it will need to be...special...

    Did you create such art?

Time for new bike adventure and this is not a 'didn't get on with the bike' type story.

In fact had it for 5 years and made me smile every time. But had a couple of other bike options and kinda got the dream happening...

I would like to thank well all of you...my daily inspiration.

    Especially:
David Cohen for that brilliant introduction
Grizz for that mouth watering performance benchmark of a Scram

And when I thought we were starved of Scrambler videos to show what can be done:
Rossi and Roadie pioneering the Scrambler for the 21st century
Ernie eDub Vigil for improving my dating life (or thinking it did improve)
Johnny Miller for helping put Triumph back on flat track and THAT video
and the beautiful simplicity of the Scrambler

Will I be back? Would never say no to a future collectible and perfect everyday ride.

But another bike has connected with my soul and it's time to keep riding to a different vibe.

All the best and if anyone wished to get a look like below (tank, fairing, seat, cowl, Thruxton cup bellypan) I have those parts going on fleabay soon or PM me (local pickup from Sydney, Australia preferred) as I sold with the standard Blue/White setup.

Ciao buddy. That's one damn fine 'cheerio' post there.
Enjoy your new vibe to the max, take care and be sure to drop by sometimes to see how we're all goin' on this one.

X75 Hurricane too. Among the most gorgeous Triumph models of old (although technically a BSA originally), but as asymmetric as could be.

    Didn't they sounds too loud?
    Idea of efficient db killer?

i've got an 06 red/white scrambler but i think the green/silver is the nicest combo. it's the silver fenders, the next best thing to chrome, triumph should come out with other combos using silver fenders.

Yeah they won't fit. I had to take the center stand off also, but I'm looking to modify it at some point so I can attach the spring and bracket to the left side.

Louder than stock but not obnoxious at all. At idle it is probably no louder. Overall I think a great balance. I run them with the db killer in. Don't think I'll bother taking it out.

Great looking bike, xaman. I like the raw look!

Is that what the tank looks like stripped to bare metal, or is that paint? I'm tempted by the the idea of stripping and clear varnishing mine if it's clean underneath.

    Thanks.

Yeah, that's bare metal, but with two coats of clear gloss powder coat. I'm pleased with the way it turned out.

Here's a shot before the gloss:

Go for it, i think youd like the look. It's not a horrible experience, but be prepared for some elbow grease. There's a very recent thread over on the triumph site with lots of advice and some step by steps. Let me know if I can help.

Thanks - this must be the thread:

    http://www.triumphrat.net/twins-tec...ng-paint-off-tank-for-brushed-metal-look.html

No one seems to be sandblasting them which seems like it would be the easiest way to strip the tank. Maybe there's something wrong with that idea or maybe people just don't have access to a sandblaster. I could use the one at the TechShop nearby.

    Yep that's the thread .

I don't know why sandblasting wouldn't work as long as you had a steady hand. Sure sounds easiest to me.

Sorry to dig up the old post. Just saying hi. :freaky

Bross is one of the *ahem* earlier contributors here.

Hope things are going well for you, thought I would pop in and see what the thread was up to now.

you're going to get a different look if you sandblast it. I would not prefer that look myself...

I went from the Thunderbike slipons to the Zard Cross and love it! The Thunderibke exhaust did sound better though...but not much. I could feel the weight loss immediately and it really cleaned it up.
