the coordinates are the nearest transition point north of the city. Transition point being some point of intersection. It seems like this is a point where it appears 5 roads came together, if i remember correctly. I remember stopping to make sure we hit the right road. From your image posted earlier. i am not sure where the re-routed came from. It may be north of the point i am referencing. and north of workman mountain. I was trying to provide reference going north of that point. and keeping south of that point along the route in tact.

Ok so here is an option for that county. let me know what you think. It cuts back west at the intersection your talking about and heads north. This would get rid of the ark. paved section.

when it pops up the little box with 3 options make sure they are all checked. it automatically checks the first and last.

Also i have a question for everyone. How hard do you think this trail needs to be? I have found a couple more water crossings, but they are crossing a sand bottom river that could have water in it depending on when you do the ride. I personally don't like sand and would not do them alone. Whats your opinions...

Maybe design the route around these areas but include them in an alternate path?
Or, at least identify these points on the map and let the rider decide and reroute accordingly.

I like the idea of at least knowing there's a technical spot ahead before I get there.

    Airdale,

I think that was one of our favorite areas. We really enjoyed that stretch of the route, particularly the dirt and gravel parts. Cruising down on the Illinois was nice since not only was the scenery good, it was a nice break from the hills we'd been doing all day, and would continue to do.

Back at the stable now. It was cool this morning but around 10 the sun came thru and that made the ride better. If you click the link below you,'ll see todays ride. I spent my teenage years in this area and rode most of these roads on a Honda 160 Dream that dad bought for 75 dollars...the good ol days.

Now that 30 years have passed the area has changed. There are few gravel roads and everywhere is just more populated.

I will post a full RR with pics on www.twowheelsthreeamericas.com

changed the routing a little bit right where it crossed into texas. i found a cool tunnel where the road goes under some rr crossings, then i found this cool bridge and changed the routing a little bit to include it too. Newest version uploaded to first post.

i looked at the route, and your site. Could you give me a location on the water crossing, and any roads that you think are good to be included in the ride? Also i liked to powerline part of it. does it actualy connect 2 roads? if so it woulld be cool to jump from one road to another using the powerline area.

    Nice!

EDIT: I missed the part about the RR so went back and read it. Very good info. It's interesting to hear the viewpoint of someone more local to the area than we are.

You are a busy guy. There's just too many options out there, huh?
I'm already wanting to do it again next year, if only to see the changes.

Thanks, maybe after lunch I can ride from Welling to Combs Bridge.

That road beside the powerline is the road that runs north and south thru Elohim City. Kilted and Cropear should remember it.

I ddont have a GPS so im using my SPOT and Google maps. If someone knows how to drop a pin and get coordinates from google let me know.
