Man that was some nasty crap. Nasty, slick clay - I didn't have a prayer.

P30, it was indeed a great day of riding. I know you been wanting one every since May. Now you can't get rid of the Harley, you need something to shine between bar stops:rofl

Could not have asked for a better day to go riding! No dust, bugs, rain or wind. Had a great ride. Thighs feel like I spent the day skiing, I'm sure I'll feel the rest of my body tomorrow. Just polished off my first Heineken and I feel better already!

Looks like you guys had a nice time too - more gravel, less trail it seems. How does Moto like his new-to-him bike?

Hey ID skiguy, sorry we didn't get together but sure looks like you guys had a good ride also. We had a blast as we stayed in the single track stuff and creek beds waddling through aimlessly, most of the day entailed peg time so I was very generous with the "IcyHot" last night....but I'm much better now!

Glad you three had a good time:thumb

Sam, Phil and I are riding the desert this weekend. We'll be riding around Doyle's Place on Saturday for anyone who'd like to join us. I'd recommend a lighter bike, based on the terrain we'll be riding. We'll be running double track and jeep trail... with some gravel to get there and back.

Weather will be questionable - cold with a chance of rain (30-40%).

If you're interested, PM me so I can get you directions and times. :thumb

We changed our plans due to rain, and rode to Pine Flats for a dip in the hot springs.

It's a great spot, right off the river, with the water pouring down over the rocks.
    [IMG][IMG]

After soaking and BSing for a while, I took off for the gravel, while they took the road back.

I love riding through the mountains this time of the year - especially when it's been raining. The sights and smells are awesome.

Sorry I missed out on this one, looks like you had fun. I would like to know where the hot springs are. I have a buddy with a cabin in Placerville and I'm sure I'll spend a few weekends there in the future. You going riding tomorrow?

Nope. Did all my riding today - have to do chores tomorrow.

When you leave Placerville, go the 11 miles to Garden Valley. Turn right on Highway 21 and it's about 10 miles east on 21. Pine Flats Campground.

Sam, I used to run a plate to avoid getting hasseled when we would go to Utah. Idaho will sell you a plate for just about anything, it is up to you to determine if it is street legal. The bigger deal is liability insurance or the lack of it if you get stopped.

We were there, at the trail, last week. If fact, we were there twice, because I got us lost and we looped back to it. :lol2

Sorry the weather didn't turn out better and I didn't have a street-legal bike for the ride today. It looks like the weather was pretty good up there with no snow or rain.
