or just use the V7 mounting brackets for the indicators? http://www.thisoldtractor.com/gtbender/mg_photo_archive/turn_signals_and_brackets/03585.jpg i really like the low placed indicators on those
After many trials and quite a few tribulations, I finally got the bar end indicators installed. In the end I used the original bars, and as MZrider suggested, reamed out the ends of the bars to make the lights fit. Somewhat to my astonishment, the wiring worked properly first time and the blinkers blink when they should and not when they shouldn't. Best of all, they provide good clear indication without destroying the aesthetics of the bike. A good compromise. Nick
Does anyone know of a source for the passenger seat grab rail? My Militare has the passenger seat, but no rail. Used would be fine too. Thanks Nick like so:
Nick, according to the official parts manual that grab rail is not a separate part but is part of the rear seat - part 10 46 56 00 ( the seat cover is part 10 46 17 00). That doesn't necessarily mean that the rail cannot be had as a separate piece either as a left-over oem piece or an aftermarket part. I suggest watching ebay and you may contact Agostini in Italy and TLM in Holland. More NFalcone parts are to be found in Europe as opposed to North America since these bikes were never officially imported to the US or Canada. Of course, you never know when something may pop up here. Wouldn't hurt to give Guzzino in CA an email to check if they can help. Any suggestions, Hubert? .
Here ya go, Nick. On Italian Ebay- http://www.ebay.it/itm/SELLINO-POST...=Ricambi_e_Accessori_Moto&hash=item5654dd41e2 Same thing on German Ebay- http://www.ebay.de/itm/Moto-Guzzi-N...35603?pt=DE_Motorradteile&hash=item3f2c6ac9b3 Obviously a modern-made version of the original. Curtis Harper at Harper's may have or can get one if you are reluctant to purchase off Italian or German Ebay. I've done it several times with no problems. .
Thanks Lmn. I have no hesitation buying from the continent. Trouble is, I have an almost new seat - its just the grab bar I need. I guess I'll end up fabricating something, although since I have passengers so rarely, I may just take it off altogether. Nick
Since I can't ride, or even get a bike out of the garage because of the ice, I have to play. I just added the video below to Utube. I took it before I added the indicators and fixed the rich running, so its a bit smoky. Oh yes, it was also -7 at the time. Leafman (and anyone else) - we haven't seen any pictures of your bike for a while. January and February are horrendously busy times of the year for me but I've finally been able to make some progress on my mighty NFalcone. I've spent a great deal of time on improving the lighting. I use the bike for riding and not just showing. The stock lighting and lack of turn signals will not work these days. Too dangerous. I've done a custom-made led tail/brake light insert to the stock assembly and I've fabricated stock-looking stems to mount period-correct lucas turn signals, front and back, with leds. The headlamp is halogen but I had to replace the cev switch with a nos one and wire it up to a relay to avoid repeating damage to the switch. My paint needed touching-up in a few places but I was able to use an airbrush approach and preserve both the original paint and the original decals. It looks good. I am also fitting some nice-looking mirrors with appropriate mounts. I still have a few things to do to the engine but I will post some pics before long.
There is currently a nice and very rare Guzzi Civilian Nuovo Falcone listed on Ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Moto-Guzzi-...ad034c698&item=321320699544&pt=US_motorcycles
This Ebay bike looks good and there are only a few aberrations that I see at first look. Somebody polished the cases as well as the intake manifold and the speedo is not correct. The speedo looks to be a Harley Aermacchi piece that someone has substituted so there's no true telling what the mileage really is. Also, the rear shocks are Ceriani which are good items but not original for the bike. The bike has also been painted pretty-much close to original specs for the red-frame bikes but the decals on the side boxes have been positioned a little too low. All of these are minor issues that can be overlooked or fixed.
This bike appears to be one that appeared in some photos from a museum in Colorado. Look at this Wildguzzi thread and see the 6th pic from the bottom on the pic post- http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=59873.0 .
I'm the chap in Washington State mentioned above with the 1971 N Falcone Civile. I've had the bike for about five and a half years now and still love it. Yes, I have ridden it to the Isle of Vashon for several years. Two and a half years ago I rode it to the annual Vintage Motorcycle Show in Corvallis, Oregon, where I was surprised when I was awarded third place for the featured margue (Moto Guzzi that year). I pushed on south and ended up doing a 1600 mile week and a half trip to California and back on it and found myself crossing Sierra passes of nearly 7,000 ft and twice was riding in falling snow. I was very cold and wet but the Nuovo Falcone did not miss a beat. To date I have put about 8,000 klms on the bike and am more attached to it than the other 8 bikes that I own.
