For fuck's sake, I had hoped that there was one corner of the world where they hadn't placed televisions in every restaurant...I guess not...:cry

:clapLooks like fun! I wasn't trying to be critical of you or your choice in any way, just to be clear. I'm just amazed at how hard it is to get away, no matter where you go. I am personally on a quest to find restaurants where I can do as you are doing here, enjoying the company rather than staring at the tube.:freaky

the shared starter.... well spotted and normally very healthty and a reason why we like the place.

normally it is a selection of grilled spiced salmon and white fish. but the chief this nite added a syrup which i wasn't keen on but my chum was.... he was out of it so that opinion doesn't count

Went here with the wife based on pics on page 2 of this thread. Looks great, but doesn't taste too good. Talked to the cook and found out they use cryo-vacced pickled lobster, which has a completely different flavor than fresh. Not necessarily bad, but if you are expecting one thing, and get another it can be disappointing. Especially if you rode 3 days to get there. There are several good lobster restaurants in the area though, so it is still worth the trip!

A great evening meal, far from the madding crowd. The key to this meal is washing it down with single malt Scotch (in the Nalgene bottles)
