When will he update his thread to give us the option to buy some of the 26xx series screws? I'm glad I waited a bit. I'll need a couple of each...

Should be the next few days... He has the first ones made but just like the Zumo Screw he has sent it off to be Torture Tested... The 26xx series screw is being tested out by Curt Grand who was a Rider in the IBR last year... When Curt says,,, they are good,,, Kevin will start making in bulk and shipping...

You can ask Kevin directly... I am just a guy who wanted an affordable,,, well made,,, great material,,, better than the rest screw,,, and was willing to buy 100 if Kevin didn't sell at least 100... He is well over 300 so far so,,, I am off the hook... :brow Ask Kevin any questions here...

While I respect Austin's comments, I feel better using the Garmin security screw AND the locking RAM knob.

Will it stop a determined thief? No. (With a Sawzall, I could cut through the RAM mount -- or cut off the bike's handlebar -- and the wires in about 5 seconds.) Might it deter an opportunist? Sure.

That said, I wouldn't leave a $1,000 GPS unit on the bike overnight or while parked in suspect area.

I won't leave my ZUMO on in any case. With his Zumo screw, I can finally take it on and off at will. I just ordered 4 of them...

    109% understand!!!

    But,,,

I can take a Zumo off a bike when it has the security lock,,, and the Garmin screw in less than 20 seconds...

Friend had a Lock and screw on his and was saying the same thing... I took the Zumo and twisted it and the Ball unscrewed from the bike!!! If I really,,, wanted it,,, I would have clipped the wire and walked away in under 20 seconds...

Being able to take the Zumo off in seconds using the Machined Screw than getting a key,,, finding the security screw,,, and hoping you don't lose either in the dark gravel parking lot at 11:17 pm in El Paso... Don't ask how I know... :doh

Yeah, yeah, yeah. My father in law farms about 5,000 acres and every year he tells me how bad it is and how he's getting his ass kicked. Miraculously though, nice vacations are taken and a new boat and truck appear in his garage every year.:confused
