The setting sun illuminates the Chugach Mts to the south of the Glenn Hwy between Glennallen and Palmer, Alaska. The mid-section of the Matanuska Glacier peeks around the shoulder of Lion's Head Butte.


Something to help those of you suffering from extreme heat to cool off a bit, this scene from January with the sun setting at 3:15 in the afternoon and casting an orange alpenglow over all the west-facing slopes around Gulkana Glacier.

Just playing with HDR and this popped out. 10:30 at night, about 3/4 mile from home.
