SAw this when I got here...

So I knew I must be in the right place.

Pic included because it shows an obligatory airhead in there somewhere, waiting till tomorrow to be unloaded:

There's also Ignatious's WR250, and I saw an F650 with dual headlights and a rally type fairing out there. :neato

I filled up my panniers with a bunch of miscellaneous tools and parts that were behind the bench and outside in the snow. Will detail them tomorrow. No doubt anything I plan for will not be included in the list of things that will DNF me. :lol3

seriously? Oh well, I'm the JAson Adams with a shitload of bike pics splattered all over the place :D

its raining nice, today. :bluduh Gonna go buy some warm stuff. By deciding not to bring every piece of gear I own, I kinda screwed myself :lol3

Need to actually go buy a raincoat, and a little piece of velcro to hold the PIAA lightswitch to the handlebar.

    Socks, Fleece tights, padded shorts.
    Rallye 2 pants, Sidi Boots.

long sleeve undershirt, 661 pressure suit. FLeecy zipper up over that, and Rallye 2 Jacket.

Leatt brace, neck warmer and a helmet. Gloves. Goggles.

I weigh 170 before gear... probably 220 after and I can barely move for all the safety gear :lol3

My oil pressure switch is leaking, almost actual drips off hte bellypan Dont know if I just need to tighten it down, or if I forgot the cruch washer. Was almost positive it came with it, and that it was hard to tighten. Need to try again.
Mirror bolt is stripped, cant get the mirror on.

Otherwise, good to go! :D Registration, here we come.

Made it through tech inspection. That was a breeze but I had a bit of a scare on the way there.

Stopped to get a new bolt for my mirror, because the bolt threads were trashed and then Mike's bike's battery dies :D so we borrow some cables and get it going, and I notice:

Oil leaking out the oil pressure switch quite badly. Dont have the correct socket to fit it, so I got a Crescent wrench in there sideways and a box end to yoink it sideways yielded another 1/8 turn. Oil REALLY started leaking then, and I was like Oh CrAP.

Tip the bike over in the parking lot and unscrew the OPS. DIscover that I forgot to put the crush washer on when i put hte new switch in last week. :uhoh Into Advance Auto Parts for some crush washers. First washer wasnt the right size, so I got another one. It worked. I was scared for a few minutes, but its all better now :freaky

The new PC68- is working great. PRobably started the bike about 20 times so far and no problem. I'm going to run an extention cord out the hotel door and down to the bike to charge it up :D

From now on I will forever keep a deepwell 18mm socket on the bike at all times. I'll tell people I carry it because one time this guy Stagehand almost missed a race because....

I do indeed have interest in that... I would have to upgrade the route sheet holder, though, for sure... but I could make it up there... that looks pretty sweet, and I've seen Skibum hanging around the racing section here at ADV. A newfoundland rallye would be pretty sweet.

Dinner on Max at Bills BBQ Buffet. :thanksMAx

then we build the rollchart/routesheet/roadbook. I only include the transits (liasons) because a) there's no way I can fit the whole day into the tiny holder, and b) its the sheerest optimism to imagine you can look down and read this thing on stage, much less advance it.

I dont even know if the deep socket fits properly with the case in the way right there on the side. I think I tried it... maybe i didnt have an 18 and was trying to fudge a 7/8 or something :lol

I'm having a hell of a time c/p this thing here, so here is a generic link to stage scores:

    http://www.nasarallysport.com//results/2011-Sandblast-Rally-index.htm

13th overall in bikes, 3rd in Heavy class, and I'm just glad to say I finished :D

Just walked back in the door after a 12 hour drive. Well, I unpacked, and put the bike on a charger. Didnt even wash it off yet :D

This was before the pushing part: :rofl
