I'm reluctant to use HDR, but since I have it in camera now, I give it a try every now and then. It turned out to be the best option for this particular shot.

I almost always carry my DSLR when riding, usually in my padded messenger-style camera bag slung over my shoulder or strapped to the pillion. If I'm going to be focused more on riding, I'll just pick one lens for the day and just put the camera in my tank bag. Yes, I have crashed (while dual sporting a street bike, so rather low speed), and in both cases the camera and gear was fine.

I did do a little "post-processing" though, it was a team effort.
