A few years back, some moron painted the tip of an AK pistol orange and open carried it in a local park.

Sorry, just saw this post. I didn't have my tracks on when we hit the road so I was guessing from the map. If it helps, it has a down hill portion that goes past a "house" with beware of dogs signs and has a decent size boulder in the road. It would be passable in a pickup, but for a first time off road on the tenere it worked well. I know I have been acrossed it before on the Strom with you or maybe it was Craigs ride. But Lisa made it without incident, so her cherry has been burst. :lol3
As for a WR, the only DS bike I've heard her mention was a DR400 she had.:dunno

That sounds like Bats Nest. Riley Chapel is the next road west.

Did you come off of Chestnut Ridge, go south on an unmarked road, down a hill, the shithole looking house with dogs and such on the right, in the apex of a curve, and no other houses on the road until it ended on 715? Muddy area at the bottom of the hill?

Sounds like it. I was glad most of it was very solid so the bikes didn't cake up with mud. :D

Hello from Knoxville, where my ride has ended. Bike went down hard. Apparently, it is very possible to drag a pannier with enough lean. Probably was doing 25mph or so. As soon as the aluminum pannier touched I lost traction and low sided. Bike went off the side of the road and rolled down about 200 feet to the bottom of a ravine. I stayed on the pavement and the gear did its job; not a scratch or bruise.

It has full coverage, and is sitting outside a dealership now. I'll know more tomorrow.

I'm in a shitty motel by the dealership tonight. And I'll decide what to do from here tomorrow. I guess there is a greyhound line from here to columbus for under $50.

Look for me in the highlight reel of us129photos.com; he got it all on camera.
