DROOL Would love to hear the bike without the music masking the lovely engine sounds. Beautiful work!
This is my 03 LeMans that I bought new. Now has about 55,000 relatively troublefree miles on it and runs like new.
Well, it's time for me to start with the accessories. Looking for a small windshield like a puig universal touring. Most places I've looked are overseas. Wondering if theirs anywhere to get something like that in the states at a reasonable price. Ive got some valve cover protectors ordered which I think will come in handy. Might try some crash bars also.
Easy. If you're smart, the oil filter is secured with a hose clamp. Drop the sump, loosen the clamp, remove the filter. Doesn't really take all that long.
There are alot of bolts on the sump cover though. Not as easy as a DL oil change, but if I can do it anyone can. I don't remember my oil filter being held on by a hose clamp though. I thought it was a spin on. I still have the Guzzi filter tool. EDIT- Missed the "smart" part.
OUCH. That lunch the whole motor? I'm in the market for a new/used bike. I really am looking for something new and different. Maybe a Rocket III or a Road Glide. But I keep lurking/posting in the Guzzi threads and I have my eye on ebay and the MGNOC classifieds.
yes. the engine was toast. sold it to a guy who had a spare California engine to install in it. You should really take a look at the California Vintage. They're pretty nice motorcycles. Engine internals from the Breva 1100. Nice luggage. Classic look. Prices on the Cal Vin from '07 to '10 are surprisingly attractive!
I'm having a helluva time getting the ol' Centaro started.. I'm thinking it might have termites.. This is the bike I want to put in the garage ...
I snapped this pic of a friend today on his 1974 V7 Sport. Route-66, near Depew Oklahoma... This is me and Redridinhood on my California Bassa, taken on the same stretch of road...
my first mod. I thought this might come in handy. Cover protectors.. And they look pretty good too.... Probably well worth it for the money
I was looking for an oil filter for the guzzi. I saw champion had some oil filters x318 or x329 I was wondering if there are 3rd party oil filter you can use. I just got one from Harpers for now just wondering about 3rd party. I found they recommend 10/60 oil for the bike which I don't come across regularly. I was told that 20/50 will work and it uses two liters. Just looking for accessories that don't cost an arm and leg here in the states. Thanks
I don't know about the small blocks, but the big blocks can take the Mobil-1 M1-102 filter. That's what I use. I also use Mobil-1 oils. Don't cheap-out on your oil and filters, your bike will thank you later. Accessories for Moto Guzzis WILL cost an arm and a leg. The low production guarantees it. What are you looking for? Hepco and Becker make racks for thier bags. There are all kinds of universal windshields out there, such as Plexifairing, if you don't like the Guzzi accessory shields.
Badges were put on today, we have a set of older smallblock valve covers that are being polished up that well get on soon.
