Found this little gem when I got around to unloading. I guess the magnet doesn't really need a fancy holder, just let it ride on the disc. That was just the way it was sitting when I pulled the front wheel off.

I was great to see old friends, put a few faces to avatars and meet some new rally nuts as well. I can say without exception that everyone I encountered was fantastic, and isn't that what this sport is all about?

While the 690 may not have been the best selection for this rally, (Chilly) i felt pretty good with a 7th after the first special...only to throw it away with a senior moment and lousy navigation later in the day, but hey...that's what it's all about.

Thanks again for everyone involved for a great time and fun event, and hopefully we will see you all again in the Spring!

You have seen the dunes section already - here's another pic of the battle to the finish. I saw video of winner Andy Grider hitting this section, he OWNED it!!

    Hey everybody,
Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed this event and a big thank you to Scotty and his event staff. Also to the people of Baja for letting us race through their beautiful backyard. A huge thank you to Dave Peckham for not only the race support but also for prepping my bike immaculately.
I really enjoyed the vibe in the bivy after the days stages, very relaxed and yet it was still a race atmosphere. Really enjoyed meeting everyone from the ADVrider forum.
The rally route was great, a little of everything for everybody. While racing down the beach Sunday, I couldnt help but think how awsome it is that there are still places where you can race on a beach, imagine trying to get permission to do that here in the states??
To my team mates Dave, Phil,Charlie, Joe and Dirk thanks for all your help and making this an unforgettable experience.
Hope to see you all in the spring!!

I have a serious case of dune envy....

....maybe if I put some powder on it or somethin'...

    :bow:bow

Congratulations to all riders and a salute to everybody involved. Truly an inspiration to all wannabe rally raiders, such as myself.

    All the best,

    Stovey

    May 21-25 ?

That's a quick turnaround from a Sept race the year prior.

This event looked so great. Looks somewhat approachable even as a "ride-to-finish" adventure for an amateur. Hoping to add this to the calendar...
