Mainly memorable because this was taken the day after my Grandpa passed away. Was a trip to get away from everyone for a night and try to say goodbye.

That's cause Missouri is cool like that with coat racks at our campsites.

    Camp outside Moab.

The bivy was too hot, the insects were too fierce, and the rain became too hard, so the bike cover got double duty.
(I am rethinking my kit. I want to keep it simple, though.)

Doesn't get much simpler than spreading your sleeping gear out on a picnic table and enjoying a beautifully clear NV night sky! :clap

There's an interesting dichotomy here. We see one of the simplest sleeping methods possible, in close proximity to the most unsimple motorcycle ever produced.

And I say that in the nicest possible way. :D

It may at 1st appear to some as a sophisticated piece of machinery (which it is) but if you do your preventative maintenance (relatively simple) they are a simple motorcycle, in that other than an oil change, or new tires, no further work need be performed for the rest of the summer. I put on over 21,000 miles on this trip, spanning just over 3 months, going out to the west coast twice and to the 'middle east twice as well. 2 oil changes and I probably could have made it home on the tires I started out with, but changed them out in the last 1,000 miles or so.
Some think why not buy/ride a car. I just look at them and grin, for I am comfortable, have tunes to listen to and the 'pig' will slay a lot of unsuspecting 'sport bikes' in the twisties! :evil I've also taken it down some dual track paths.

My camping set up can get more 'complicated'. ...
