Gidday folks. Any ideas add to what make this chassis might be? If like to use it on my sv1000 but need to check out the rust on it. Might be too far gone. Cheers Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk 2
Seriously ? ... mate , I wouldn't run that on a Vespa , seriously At a quick stab , home made. Keep the two top struts , maybe the rubber Alco suspension if it's not flogged out. The rest , straight to Wanless metals.
your instant thought would be, what a load of crap, but if you look at it objectively. It has clearly been on a bike, for some time by the looks of it, its not bent or broken so it must have done the job, whatever your preconceived ideas might be! Whatever that job might have been, could even be a platform for a mobile camera mount.
... well apart from being Captain Obvious ... Of course the bloody things been hooked to something The question is , by the looks of it , the ' frame ' , is made of 20 x 20 - 1.6 so will it be happy when the SV leans on it ... at 120 kph.
Cheers I was given this thing and hasn't really looked at it for a while. It's been on a triumph I think at some stage going on the badge on the guard. But yeah pretty flogged. I've pretty much come to the conclusion that it would be better to start again Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk 2
I had a couple of djp chairs a long time ago, one on a sportster and another on a water bottle. My wife has a chronic pain illness that's buggered up riding pillion so is time to revisit the chair thing. Perhaps a complete outfit might be better Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk 2
cheaper faster ... by the time you strengthen the frame and remake all the connections. Was that the one that had a black tub on it a while back ? Can't remember where I saw it , here or fleabay.
There was a chassis the same on flea bay recently. Don't know what has been on this chassis in there past. All I know is it was given to a guy who passed away and his wife gave it to me Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk 2
Build or buy , always hard to say. Budget , can you do the fitting yourself ... time , the space. Space is important 'cause the bloody thing usually takes three times longer than you allowed for Can you find something that suits your purpose and within budget is always a pain. Throw pops or 3legs here a pm as they are the closest to you and have their ear to the ground to see what's out there.
There's a Vulcan with a premier chair at port Lincoln, k100 and watsonian at strath. Gotta wait for cmc op recovery before I get serious Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk 2
I can't do any type of arc welding for medical reasons (pacemaker ) which makes building tricky. Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk 2
I think they were made somewhere around the Sydney area. Seen a few over the years, mostly with Westcar and Dusting bodies. They seem to have worked a lot better than you'd think. Bought one without the suspension and wheel many years ago because it had a nice Watsonian body on it. It was apparently off a GL1000.
