That's the plan at this point. We'll have to see how things shake out next Summer before I know for sure. It's a long 2-day trip from home, which simplifies things greatly. I'm looking forward to my wife, Pinktoad, joining me this time.

BadJuJu, I hope you and your wife can make it out to the RMAR. It's a fun group, very family friendly, and Big John puts on the best meals you'll ever get at a motorcycle event. No hot dogs or burned burgers, he treats us right. I'm 60 and now ride a 2001 Triumph Tiger, which for me, is a pig of a trail bike. However, there's plenty of road riding for the road riders and epic off road for those who want to trail ride. The rides are planned out (?!) and led by experienced riders (?!) who'll tell you in advance what the ride will be like; serious, moderate or easy. You pick your group and the day begins. Please keep in mind you'll be riding and exercising at some serious altitude compared to the East. Oxygen and energy are both hard to come by at 10,000 ft. so try to get here a few days early to adjust. Hope you make it out to the RMAR #3.

Shoot! As I said, you ain't skeert me off yet. Kind'a reminds me of the old army joke:

The Inspector General was touring the base and stopped in the kitchen area where the cook was preparing the meal for the troops. As the inspector watched, the cook took a wad of cookie dough, rolled it into a ball, pressed it against his protruding, sweaty, hairy belly into his navel, and placed it onto the cookie sheet. Aghast, the inspector questioned the camp commander, who replied that there was no real concern--the cook was merely making "flower" decorations for the troops. However, the inspector was adamant that the practice be halted. The commander looked at the inspector and said, "Gee, sir, that's not so bad....."

    (are you ready for this?)

"....You should see how he makes the donuts." :lol3

One thing that wasn't addressed from your post is you said you'd be looking for a dirt bike - keep in mind it'll have to be street legal for most of the rides. Other than that - come out and enjoy!

Lookin' at an '08 DRZ400. Street-able, but verdict is still out on whether it's truly a dirt bike. It's fitted with TKC80s and a bash plate and hand guards. If that's what I end up with, I'll prolly drop at least one tooth on the front and maybe gain 1 or 2 on the rear. 315# doesn't inspire huge confidence on steep rocky washes, but W-A-Y better than the WeeStrom at almost 500#. However, the Wee is a magnificently capable and FUN road bike in the twisties! I'll be bringin both, I hope! :clap
