What’s the story with the Freeride 350, KTM trying to break into the trails market?

I believe the point is to be as environmentally friendly as possible... so light, tiny knobblies, little exhaust noise and definitely no twostroke... I like the concept actually.

Red tape and emission regulation. I’m surprised the motorcycle industry hasn’t cracked the direct injection systems, common on 2 smoker snow mobiles.

Amazing! I'm now refreshing the power parts -catalog constantly and waiting for a 990 adv rear rack which has mounts to carry one 300EXC.

I've noticed that the 350 Freeride is quite heavy compared to similar powered bikes (4 strokes) :(
And the 30 hp that it delivers are available since 1994, the year that my Suzuki DR 350 was born, the only difference is the tank/seat configuration, more of a trial bike configuration.
