Wow. Soooo nice and clean. Did you took TMs off second DR? Or you have second set?

The only thing - since photos are so detailed it is easy to see how different is SR43 frame comparing to SR41/42. I mean - SR43 frame is SO MUCH beefier...every crucial area is reinforced.
I think weak "junction" where 2 top rear beams connect to top front beam of frame on 750 is what had inevitable effect on frame rigidity of older models.

Bluesman yes I hope so it is soooo strong compared to the stock one I really was in shock when comparing the two together,I allso got front springs and will put up a pic to show the difference.
Does any know what fork gaiters or boots to use with HRT fork brace as the part the boot goes over is much narrower, thanks in advance.

Sorry I did not answer first question, these are another set of carbs, I just could not resist but I have adjusted the pump to squirt after 1/4 throttle so not so touchy arround town.

Yes much stronger really at the back behind the seat area which I like for ADV riding and could really load her up.

Hey Bluesman, I wound the preload adjuster to halfway with the special spanner thingy and it felt like heaps when you have the time no rush now but just by site roughly where is yours set, thanks.
The original spring was compressed to the max no more thread left at all:eek1

Mine is appr. 12-15 mm from the top of thread, but that's different shock absorber.
Let me better give you overall spring lenght in current state, all preloaded to perfect sag. Spring rated for 95 kg of load (I specially asked for a bit stiffer spring to accomodate me, gear and luggage and occasionaly wife as passenger): 240 mm
Wire diameter also 12 mm.
Stock DR spring I have (one that did not sag but lost some of stiffness) is 255 mm and 10 mm wire.
That's for SR43 of course.

I'm building an off road tourer out of my 1988 750 (SR41?). This will include Gobi panniers, upgraded suspension etc. Has anyone beefed up their SR41 frame to later specs? If so I'd love a list of where to brace and some templates for the braces if available. To all the "keep it standard" crowd, I'm keeping all the stock bits and will restore my BIG when I'm finished.

Robmoto: Love the orange paint. Mine will get a coat of that for sure.

It was done 2 years ago... since that time I finished modifying my DR twice
I have different approach to rebuild - my DR kept in old tatty and scratched plastics, no shiny parts - all is painted or brushed or...not washed
The principle was to build a "sleeper" and not to be worried about scratching plastics when offroading as I am beginner offroad and want to be not afraid to drop it. You probably noticed well worn crash bars. So basically I got now DR with fully tuned WP Extreme 50mm front forks, Beringer 4 piston brake, full adjustable twin-circuit Wilbers shock, titanium ex-Benelli Arrow exhaust with self-made link pipe,self-made minimialistic dashboard with Trailtech panel, modifyed crashbars, GPR handlebar with aluminium handguards, self-made MX type chain guide, custom pannier frames, upjetted carbs and improved air flow, 2 sets of interchangeable wheels (supermotard and offroad sizes), self made upper chain deflector,customized inertia valve chain oiler and some small bits and pieces.
But it still looks similar to it was when I bought it. 15000 km since finished last stage of modifying. No single hiccup and brilliant handling.

About bracing - give me your email address (via PM) and I will send you all photos of stripped and painted frame of my SR43A. SR43 frame is heavily braced comparing to SR41 in headstock, upper duplex joint, rear part of frame, triangle, across etc. All you will have to do is to do similar things to 750 frame. Why not to use Suzuki engineers brain when we can ?

Thanks bluesman for the info, I will leave the setting at the middle of the theaded section for now and wait till bike is all together then check the static preload which I believe should be should be 20/25 percent sag.

Ray if the glear is to much just move back 2 foot from the computor and it looks better .

Don't you worry, I have all original plastics packed into boxes...

The thinggy on the front lamp? This a military stuff - you know in the past almost all socialist vehicle had the same diamater of the front lamp. This is an old MZ-lamp on the bike, so it fits on it.
