Me too. other people are just jealous and haters. Ryanr- did my aluminum welding with a TIG. Not sure if MIG would be the best. parts are too small and retain too much heat too fast. careful, you might end up with an alminum arch as it warps VERY easy.:eek1
Thanks for all the replies. I think I will give the D606's a try. Up North is Northern Minnesota. MN recently made it super easy to get a plate. On order and arriving next week: Baja Designs DS Kit. Hope its real nice because it cost a lot. Vapor Stealth Shoei Hornet DS (white) Future Plans: 14T 48T for better rode drivability DID chain, anyone try an o-ring chain? I read some where they will not fit these bikes.
That's good news. When I Googled DID 520MXV the info I got was that it was a none o ring chain and an o ring could not be run because its to wide and would rub on the case.

My buddy just got a '12 CRF450X and he has had no luck finding a set of case guards for this beast. Anyone running case savers? Brand? Links? Any help appreciated... YAHBO
Not much, but its better help than I'm gettin over at ThumperTalk right now for my problem . . . This is what I'm using and I like it a LOT. http://www.elineaccessories.com/skidplates.html
I just got back from a trip a few weeks ago. I had that little $20 cover from ebay. Check out what happened: Feel free to watch the whole thing or skip to 14:20 for the carnage. Be sure to switch to 720p. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tX-wJJTG3bE&feature=share&list=UUzXapEDw8FW_raXbs7ghdJw
If your buddy rides rocks I would try Flatland Racing skid plate rather than case guards. That same ride Daaang posted destroyed three different skid plates on two different bikes. It is a rock infested hell. My LC4E went through two skidplates in two rides and still ended up with dented cases and rails. The only one I have tried that has survived a Shenandoah 500 intact and protected the engine and frame is the Flatland. I bent the hell out of it but it saved the engine and I just pounded it back out. They are not pretty. But they are thick aluminum and will take a beating. Look at where my oil filter is and you can see why I am serious about skidplates. http://www.flatlandracing.com/Merch...=CTGY&Store_Code=FR&Category_Code=Skid+Plates
