Where is the Reiter place ??

Um, let me see. You go highway 2 through startup and sultan and you go left on Reiter Rd (I think) and follow that road through the lovely trees and you will run into it. I know how to get there but forget the exact roads. Davidovich, GS Dakar, Bluesurf would be much better to ask for the specifics.

I honestly dont know. There are some guys out there this afternoon I will ask and see what they run into.

Yeah - that'd pretty much get you there. Once on Reiter Rd, you'll go barely a mile, then take the right hand turn at the Y - which does keep you on Reiter Rd. You went too far if you're on May Creek Rd. Go a couple more miles through the woods, and you'll see a large parking lot on your left. That's the lower parking area. There's an upper parking area further up the road - go left on one of the gravel roads, follow it another mile or two - come out under the power lines.
Personally, I like to park at the lower lot, and run the lower trails for a while, then cross the street at the lower lot, and run the ATV trail up to the upper lot. Fun little rocky climb, and some mud holes that eat machines.

Ok, Ive heard from a few people via PM etc.

How about we meet at Reiter at about 9:30am? This should give everyone a good chance to get out there. (If anyone is coming that is...)

The other option is to meet at the Buzz Inn in the morning if y'all want to do the "eat" thing first and then head that way.

Im going either way unless I get horribly ill (again) or something breaks (again) or a server goes down (again).

There are all sorts of trails that get technical for the DRZ's and some are ok for GS's. Ive taken a 2004 GS Adventure around many of the trails in the past just fine. Just expect to get dirty!

Reiter was damn good today. remind me to bring a snorkel next time...

Any memorable moments? Any pics for those of us who missed out?

I was out solo so I didnt push my luck too hard. Hard enough though.
Moments? Two interesting ones. One when I was hauling butt up the mountainside in the mist. Came round a corner and found myself in midair. Lets just say there is a rider+bike imprint on some gooey mud up there
No harm done!

The other was when I developed a "natural side stand" when I came round a corner in the trees. The bike skid plate hopped up on a large root and stayed there with the rear tyre buried between two other roots. Took me 15 minutes to get it out of that one.

For the mudholes you almost need a snorkel and periscope. Fun tho!

No that these are a big deal for a lot of the riders on the board but they might be a good visual for those who've never been to Reiter.

Hey, we saw one DRZ at the Enduro Saturday. Pretty easy trails, except the places where a thousand snails slimmed the trail. Gotta love them handguards.

Hay Dave...did gonzo Ronnie run that enduro with ya?

Yeah, I couldnt get away in time or I would have been there. I had a good street ride with Stosh though.

Im trying to watch the air filter. Luckily I didnt get stuck in any of the deep stuff I went through and kept it going fast enough to not cause a problem. I am planning on a filter cleaning this week though just in case. Im planning on taking good care of that bike!

A guy on a Honda XR400R and I goofed around for a bit playin' chase etc. A lot of fun!

Yeah - he and I started on the same minute. He's got a couple of good stories to tell about the ride! No deep water on the course though - but Capital Forest has some of the slimiest clay you've ever seen. Front wheels just get a mind of their own in that stuff! Helluvalota fun.
