Moto Guzzi California 1400

It seems that the real problem with not being able to find a dealer is that it's hard to go buy a bike. I can do the rest myself. Also, I find myself wondering how I can get out from under my Triumph to buy one of those when they arrive.

Hmmm....looks like that website hasn't been upated in about 3 years. Not very confidence inspiring for someone looking for a new Guzzi.

In regards to HD riders and Guzzis, friend has a '99 Road King and a early '70s 850 Eldorado.

The author, Bruno de Prato, has not been reluctant to criticise Italian iron in the past, especially Guzzis. A rave from him carries some weight.

You're not far off the mark though. I don't think Harley "owners" would give it a second thought, but Harley "riders" might.

It's supposed to be at a local dealer this weekend. I'm on nights until Monday - so might get to have a look next week. £16000 GBP is a touch on the large size..

Yeah, they are the ones around here. There actually are a couple others that are a little more sketchy in terms of product knowledge. When the day comes to buy, I will buy from Rose Farm.

Ya gotta admit their website is a little on the sparse side.

What do you need to know from a dealer's website other than contact info?

The Manufacturer's website is where you go for up to date product info.

I don't go to the manufacturers website for model info. I come here.

I feel different about the website. I want to see decent website where I can peruse their stock of new and used bikes. I also want to know what accessories they may carry, even if it's just a picture or two of their store. They have a decent picture gallery of what looks like NOS. Their Gazetta link is broke and that would be the place I would expect to see open house info, or "Stop by for coffee on Saturday when you're in town for the Cycle World show in February" info. Contacts page should have a pic of the outside of the shop at minimum so out of towners know what they are looking for.

I am 156 miles from them. I can't just pop down and look around and see the bikes. It's a day trip for me. If I'm looking to buy a brand new model (Cal 1400), I want the warm and fuzzies up front so I feel good about my very expensive purchase. First year model worries do cause me concern. The website does factor into the decision making process for me.

Now, Jim at Ned's in Riverside, Iowa doesn't even have a website. I think he finally gave up on Guzzi. I would have gone to him as my dealer. He was great with me whan I had my 03 LeMans. Times change though.

I think I saw on the Guzzi site 14-15K, if so, that's GREAT! I think it's a damn good looking bike If I were into cruisers I think this'd be the one. I've long wanted a Guzzi, the transverse V twin just looks great.

I think that's the logical way to do a v twin, each cylinder get's a good clean supply of air, and it looks better,IMO!

i believe the RK is at 17K now add ABS(security package) for 1200 plus 250.0 for cruise control and you in the 19K ball park without the traction control and 3 different maps.
