Not sure the Revloc works like a Rekluse, but with the Rekluse the clutch works the same. You have manual control.

Electrosport? I have heard a lot of bad things about them. I'm too lazy to look up the part number right now but you can get an OEM Honda stator. That's a great R/R.

Why are changing stator and RR? I have a oem stotor and RR if you need them? I bought them when I was having electrical issues. After replaces the stator and RR it turned out to be a bad frame ground was causing my issues.:rofl I love replacing perfectly good parts.

    Yep on the R/R,

I don't think that is the right stator that you posted though...
that one might fit but It might only be rated for 200w instead of the one I got which is rated 300-320w,

    I bought a new/rewound stator from
Ricks Motorsport electrics Inc, for $140.00 OTD, part# 21-119.(it fits a few different bikes-some are 1984-87 Honda VF700C Magna).

    http://ricksmotorsportelectrics.com/proddetail.php?prod=21-119&pmc=ODRIb25WRjcwMEM=

should be Honda part no. 31120-MK3-004, or 31120-MB1-024,(one part number supersedes the other)

Wait a sec? Did you not get that PM I sent you? or are you just double checking with the rest of the crew? :deal :freaky

well, mostly,..."you can can still “feed”, “fan”, “slip” or “pop” the clutch and do motocross style starts" but it's still not a "direct link" if you will,(barring clutch slip) , you can't bump start the bike without making a adjustment to the clutch which some models requires tools and then make another adjustment to continue riding once the engine fires(which is something to think about on a electric start bike and your battery goes dead) and if you stall on a hill the bike free rolls,(hence one of the reasons why the bar mount rear brake is popular and yes A bike can and does stall even with the Rekluse), more then likely I would be completely happy with a Rekluse and knowing me I would keep the clutch lever active and add a rear brake lever kit(If Rekluse ever makes one for our bikes), when I typed the previous post I had forgotten that the Rekluse had that ability, the guy with the Rekluse in his KTM 450 didn't have any clutch lever set up, he had it set for the rear brake,
another positive aspect to the Rekluse is it will make your counter shaft last longer by reducing shock loads.

It's pretty enough, I'm sure. If you ride fast, it doesn't make much difference, as those guys won't get much chance to look at your bike! :lol2
At any rate, I'm sure it's as pretty as Bryce's, and look at what his is doing for him. :nod

Lotsa good info there Kyo. And good to see some 'cons' to all those 'pros' being touted. I had a mini-bike when I was a small kid so I feel I've satisfied my rekluse curiosity.

I have a viable running '85 VF700S Sabre in my garage :evil Probably the same stator, wow. :eek1

I have seen a post that most hand guards will not let the clutch and brake levers fit in side of them. This due to the levers being to long. Most folks are cutting the levers down.

I found these guards on ebay and they work really well and the levers fit inside the guards:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/360554981847;jsessionid=79AA4545711D69977F6A020718035975?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_sacat%3D0%26_from%3DR40%26_nkw%3D360554981847%26_rdc%3D1

They are a pretty good item at a very good price. I put a set on my bike. Just thought I would pass it along for the help you folks have given me.

    Excellent info, Sir!

I would have liked to get my hands on the taller fifth gear when I had my tranny apart. I'm fine with the stock first-second-third spacing. Ideally for me, a dual sport bike will have a wide range with a good low first, a good high top, and increasingly large gaps as the gears get higher. Of course we all agree that the XRL would greatly benefit from a sixth gear. Let's try 18/26 (0.69) :D

I have Acerbis handguards on mine that fit fine over the stock levers. :dunno

NX 5th gears are hard to get. If I could afford one I would buy it. You have to get it from overseas.

I think Barron might be able to hook you up if i recall correctly. :dunno Maybe PM him. I think he is over in Japan now.

I think he has a post or two about it in this thread. Probably in the 400 posts or so... :lol3

It would be perfect with the NX 2nd and 5th gears. Combine that with a built CW engine and some stock 15/45 gears for a 120mph beast. :evil

I rode an 88 KX 500 for 2 years and did very well on it. I liked it. There were a couple of CR 500's in the circuit as well at that time.

The guy I rode with could haul some major mail as long as it held together. He had 2 or three spare bikes just for parts.
