Very nice piece. I hadn't heard of Bernhardt watches. I'm really digging the Sea Shark. That's a great value - about the same price as a Seiko 007 but from a small American company. I may be adding one of those to my small collection soon.
I have an analog atomic Casio that I picked up at a Cabelas store. Good luck finding this XL red one at a store, though.
Good luck with your Vostock . I've bought a komandirskie ( close enough ) hand wind watch because I missed the routine of winding a watch . At £27 delivered was a bargain . It keeps good time +/- 3 seconds a day , 35 hours autonomy. Finish however is deplorable . Two weeks into ownership and it looks as I've strenghted nails with it . I hope you'll be luckier than me . I'll post few piccies tomorrow . -zie egret .
Stop in and get the scoop from Fred on new stuff coming. He told me over email he was looking at new cases.
I like that Binnacle Anchor. I had one a while ago and let it get away from me. Today I'm wearing this Seiko diver from June of 1983.
Red, I just packed up my old Hamilton field watch. It's a self wind. My point is the service center is in New Jersey. Where will the Smiths be serviced? The watches look mostly identical to me. Do you ride a Triumph or follow the royal family? If you do better buy the Smiths, if not I'd recommend the Hamilton. IMHO. bill
Good point on the service issue. I have been looking at the Hamilton for awhile but a Smiths popped up on the sale forum on Watchuseek and got me thinking. I think I will stick with the plan for getting the Hamilton for now (if I decide to spend the money) because I know if I get the Smiths I will still want the Hammy. Thanks for the input.

As for a tough, wear around watch read this if you are interested... http://people.timezone.com/library/cjrml/cjrml631728462093125000 Then on Amazon there is this. http://www.amazon.com/Casio-DW5600E-1V-G-Shock-Classic-Digital/dp/B000GAYQKY I'd read the reviews, I have had this Casio on my wrist for a couple of years. I never take it off period and I cc ski, kayak, dual sport, swimming, bathing,. I do all my own mechanics and carpentry, Casio loves the saws-all. It is incredibly tough, comfortable and cheap and so coolly effective that all my other better watches just sit. Waterproof to 600 ft so it's a dive watch approved for space travel. Go figure. $40. IMHO. bill For the record I ride a KTM 640a. b
There is. I got my first 6309 diver in the mail Christmas Eve. This is my second. Both all original, both Suwa dials. I bought them from one of the trusted sellers at SCWF. One or the other has been on my wrist virtually every day since. Yesterday, I got this one, also a 6309, on its original bracelet.
Good plan. I think I have posted in that thread that I could give it a temporary home if it makes it to Coastal Carolina.
Love this thing. Bauhaus eat your heart out. I've ordered a brown leather w/ deployment for mine as well.
I'd go with the hammy. I'm biased because I have a khaki mechanical that's been superb, but I also think that the Everest looks too much like an Explorer I and thus lacks in the originality department, whereas the Hamilton seems to be its own style.
