As I read that scenario, ASO didn't think that was kosher, so he got no credit (read: penalties) for the missed wp's on that stage.

I often think about that.
To still be able to judge correct pace under those riding conditions, mental and physical strains, speed, stress ...And without a single reference point. Alone in the desert for miles and miles ... Wow.
