When I was in the Regular Army we trained with some Aussies that brought along a Perentie LRPV, pretty nicely set up for it's intended purpose. What I remember most was the 463L pallet loaded with beer that was brought with it!

IIRC, the Perentie's had a wider wheelbase than a 90 or 110 LR, the one I got to play with never got stuck when following our HMMWVs, what a great platform for a lightweight camper. :clap

Yes, correct. They were a Jaguar Land Rover Australia thing
They are now being sold off to the public through auction as teh Aussie Army are getting G-Waggons

www.aulro.com is a great resource and I refer to it often for my TD5 D2a

I meant the set up - not the circumstances.

Like so many things, how handy are you?

As for the HG, I got a '00 DII for cheap because it had all the leaking HG symptoms. I paid a shop (Biggs Eastside in Bellvue, WA--good guys!) to do the work after doing homework on it. It was about $2K. In retrospect it would have been smarter to have the shop look at the job and quote rather than chance the purchase. I suppose one way to work this out would be to get a WRITTEN agreement that the sale is pending an inspection and would be voided if it was the sleeves rather than "just" the headgasket.

*If* you get a DII with obvious problem cheap you can put that money towards fixes/mods. You know, because the work "has to be done anyway." :evil

The air suspension electronics on the LR3 have been giving me enough grief lately that I'm going to spring for the AB shocks with OME springs this Spring. It seems that those who have installed them have been quite happy with the resulting ride.

If anyone wants a set of air springs and OEM shocks... :ear

Guess I'm going to join the club.

Were going to pull the trigger on an 08 LR3 SE with 50K once it passes inspection. :evil

    Edit:

New to me 08 LR3! :clap

Somethings not right about that. The right hand front wheel has no support on the inside, it looks just like somebody has photoshopped a left side onto it. You can see the wheel studs holding the rim onto the stub, what's supporting the outside of the rim if the inside has no mount?

Each 'wheel' is two wheels with the stubs pointing out from the centre. Easier to see here:
