Love the old ty's ,kt's, rl's, tl's, plonkers,cota's,ect. so lets see some good old 70's iron. I personally had 74,76,78 ty250's I'll post a pic of my 74 when I get a chance.
The first is a 1976 Kawasaki KT-250 I just recently bought. It had 750 miles on it and had been in storage most of its life. The other is a 1976 Honda TL-250. I got it from the original owner. He had the high fenders and larger seat put on for trail riding. The high fenders and seat are gone and being replaced with low fenders and small seat. I much prefer the Honda engine to both the KT and the Yamaha TY. It pulls strong from idle through redline. It also seems to me the Kawasaki was made for little guys and is cramped for someone over 6 ft. But if I had it to do over a gain I would go with the Yamaha because of the amount of parts still around for them. The TL-250 is almost impossible to get parts for. The Honda has been down 3 weeks waiting for a coil. There are however lots of parts for the smaller Honda TL-125.

Yes I think the original owner laid the TL 250 down several times. He wasn't kind to it. It is stripped down right now waiting on new fenders and seat as well as the coil. Hopefully it will be back together soon. Boris that is a nice Suzuki. I have never seen one in person.
Welder, the guy I bought the Honda from told me in wanted to make the bike look like an Enduro. He threw away the headlight,tail light, fenders seat. He replaced them with a huge headlight with number plate, MX seat, high fenders, and passenger footpegs.He even went as far as to have the left side footpeg cut off and welded closer to the shifter so he didn't have to move his foot to shift. He would have been better off buying an XL-250 in the first place but he said he say a promotional add in the 70's of a guy riding a TL-250 over a Volkswagonwbug so he new it was the big for him because of that add. Shows what advertising can do. I have my work cut out for me.
Lobo, all that stuff should be easily had on ebay. especially if you not picky about using oem parts. still a very cool bike.
OH jeez no pics to bad but I had 250 Bultaco Sherpa T as my first bike, just loved it. However all my riding buddies just blew my doors off so I got fed up and went with a Bultaco 360 Frontera (ISDT), loved that one too.
Started as a basket case and a NOS tank. Bought another parts bike. Deraked the fork angle to equal a Bultaco. One inch lift on the rear shocks. Needle bearings in the steering head. Fork compensators. Engine bored to 300cc with CDI conversion. Now it idles at about 300 RPM. Sadly too nice to ride..... but that was just the excuse needed to justify buying a modern trials bike... Lobo50, Just an old XL250 with CDI. You may have to grind a little on the points cover so that it will clear the tank. The cover sticks out further but matches up just fine. I found a photo of the left side of the bike so you can see how the cover sticks out. KTM
