Hunter-Greyghost - so you made yourself an Adventure bike! cool idea. Did you fabricate the pipes or have them made or did you buy them aftermarket?

The do look good from far away. They say that Brazilians grow up with a soccer ball on their feet from the time they are born. I think you guys in Australia grow up with fabrication tools! We see some incredible stuff on this forum from your part of the world!

the ol'man wouldn't let ya run into town everytime something broke, :eek1

'Necessity is the mother of invention' - is a phrase I grew up with, both from Dad & an uncle who was an engineer, both very good mentors, Dad's still rebuilding old motors for people @ the age of 85, going strong! :rofl

Baza - love hearing stories like that especially about dads, uncles and grandfathers. Reminds me of my grandfather. Great memories. Part of what is so cool about this site is the ability to peer into the lives of likeminded adventurers all over the globe!

I hear ya, lot of good times spent in the workshop, usually @ night, with the ol'fella swearing about Jap bikes, [he rode Triumphs in his day!], :lol3
he always reckon that the oriental gentlemen designed their bikes around the size of their hands [or something along those lines!] :deal
Unfortunately, Uncle Mac died about 8yrs ago, that man was a great teacher, had a real 'Zen' attitude to his teaching style, calm - collected & always encouraging, miss him heaps :rofl

    Any info on this bike?

I've had the "project bike" itch for a while now myself and have been collecting pictures of various styles of "customs" for inspiration as well as reading a bunch of build threads.

Really diggin' the Jack Pine Triumph (Nice Cycle World video of it here for those that haven't seen it http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&feature=endscreen&v=unaRkye1OBk) as well as earwigs "desert sled".

Just still working out exactly which direction I want to go so does anyone have a link to a build thread or any info on the bike pictured above?

Working on a Triumph 750 in a '72 650 frame. Looking for a scrambler/desert sled look- stripped down, functional. Really like Earwigs creation and the McQueen ISDE bike. Anyone seen the two into one system he has on his bike?

The goal is a bike that's reliable and can run single track and gravel roads. My Uly can't do single track well and My buddy's KTM 950 gets smaller in the distance. Not a pure dirt bike but just like the old days- strip the lights off and moto it ( gently, I'm old). checking to see iuf there's a class for BIG bikes at Unadilla's Vintage race:evil
