Hold on Chief, is that a true twin spar aluminum frame or a plastic cover over a simple mild steel tuber like the 250?

It's a beam type spar frame, versus the tubular style on the CBR250R, Ninja 250, etc

Taken from Honda Canada: Lightweight diamond twin-spar steel frame

Looks a good bit beefier than my Ninja 300 frame too. Why didn't they just base the 250 off this existing structure??? Cheap bastages.

Canada occasionally gets some of the smaller niftier Euro bikes. We've been getting the Ninja ZZR250's for years with a twin spar frame instead of the EX250's.
    The CBR 125 & 250 aren't related at all.

    For a commuter I'd give a look at a CRF250 sumo setup.

Corporate structure, and the not so unreasonable belief that you couldn't sell small cars & motorcycles in the US.

Not until gas was over $3/gal anyway. We love our small hatchbacks in Canoodia as well. You couldn't give away hatchbacks in the pickup & Hummer loving US unless they were stripped out econoboxes.

I run a Givi E45 on my 2005 Ninja 250 for the commute. It's a bit ugly, but oh-so-convenient. Once you have a top case you can't ever give it up!

Not mine, but same bike and case:

do you have some pics from inside the case? i can not image have very little cargo in it and having it rolling back and forward, so I guess you have dividers of some kind.

No dividers in the trunk, just some non-slip shelf liner stapled in the bottom of it to prevent a weight shift. Works great for bulky items. Got my Christmas shopping done with it last week. I've had this setup for the last 15,000+ miles now. The biggest issue, as one clever member already pointed out, are strong crosswinds. Gotta lean into a strong gust with some extra body English, but it's doable. Thinking about putting a bike rack on the back to transport my bicycle. Nah, that'd be too much.

What kind of windscreen lip do you have there? How do you like it?

Let me guess you just move the milk crate up a bit and put the baby on remainder of the rack lol :rofl

That box actually fits inside a standard milk crate, the CBR is just really, really small. That and there is some lens compression at work here too... :lol3

Here's a photo of the inside of my trunk with a large backpack in it. It holds 48 gallons or 182 liters, so it might look kinda big even on a KLR650 or GL1800. Has more capacity than the combined luggage capacity of a new Goldwing anyway, while costing 1/6th as much and getting 3x the mpg.
And the windscreen lip is made by Laminar Lip. It definetly blocks the wind from my chest, but there's still a fair amount of buffeting around my helmet (I'm 6'2). I'm about to install the Tyga screen, which adds 4" height and 2" width to the stock screen. Then I'll mount the lip on top of that for more complete coverage in cold weather.
