I don't know about lessons, but I would be happy to go riding with you and give you any pointers I can offer. On the other hand, I'm fairly certain there are "Experts" out there that would tell me I'm doing it all wrong as well :D

This past Sunday I was able to make it to Vikings GP at Pala Raceway. It was great - perfect weather, nice tacky track and no dust. I managed to get 5th in Novice class. I could probably fight for forth but my friend stalled his bike in very narrow section on 1st lap and I was stuck waiting for about 30 seconds - that was my race. Man, they had some huge jumps there, I do not think my balls are big enough to start clearing them at my old age.

I was second coming into 2nd turn (first on this picture but there is one guy ahead)

Some sections were sandy and tricky, I kept looking where I didn't want to go and sure enough I always ended up there, right out of the main rut :rofl

We all had fun though. I could see how this could become addicting, I'm ready to repeat ASAP.

Motodisiac - great pics of the GP. It looks like your group sure had fun! I heard about it but couldn't make it up there. How big were the classes? I hear they combined the pro track and amateur tracks into one big loop? What was the atmosphere like? I'm all ears :ear

I will definitely do some races this year, most GP but perhaps a couple of desert ones. I'm swamped at work right now, so can't even think about riding yet. First outing will probably be King Of The Motos - just to spectate of course :)

I'll be heading out to spectate as well. I'm planning to bring my bike to get to some of the interesting spots. Maybe I'll see you out there.

Wow I just realised in a few weeks I will be a "VET" ...actualy kind of excited now that I can race Vet Novice with like aged novices shouldnt be as wreckless as all them kids ..... I hope :lol3

Not sure when I will get to actually go race but I will probably run out to the checkers H&H to spectate in feb.

I really wanted to run my '79 Kawi in the Classic class at GP's but they moved that race to saturday this year and that wont work with my work schedule...so desert it will be.

I wish I could make it out Sat but too many things going on. Did part of Desert's race Sunday, about 27 miles before I was caught by sweep who told me I wouldn't make it back before dark so I headed over to Means and then slabbed it back.

I'm so slow and outta shape but hopefully that will change as I do more races.

I put on my big boy pants and decided to do two loops from now on - and - you don't get national points for doing the short loop...

It's fast. It needs a rekluse, and maybe an aftermarket flywheel. Very hyper.
