So in theory, I could ride a route, upload the tracks into google earth, then print out a roadbook from that?

Looks great, but it seems like it would only give you left/right etc and not the rest of the intersection which is critical as a reference point when navigating.

    Yes!

I think that is the first auto generate from the tracks. Assume you can override / change out tuplips for ones that may not catch the first run.

It may LOOK that easy, but there is still a lot of work to get all the information and tulip right. The tool will help a lot, but I would not say it will make it "easy", just "easier".

So how exactly do you do that? Or, in the alternative, is there a way to load a gps track into Google Maps, and have it show the directions?

    Thanks

Yup. It imports all the GPX track points, then you just follow that route. Any point that is "navigationally significant", like a fork in a trail, you just click the point and it appears in the roadbook, with an auto-generated tulip.

When I did my roadbook the first time I used the GPS mileage. When the riders actually rode it using the odometers on the bikes there were quite a few mileage not matching issues. I had to go back and re-do all the mileage using the stock KTM Odometer to correct the problem.

Common problem. We plan on allowing overridable mileages just for this.

Routes always need to be pre-run for verification. They are never 100% accurate on first creation.

Any way to change the tulip to add significant objects, etc. that may not show up on the google earth view?

    Rally Navigator features in development:
    ● Drawing tools for detailed Tulip creation
    ● Drag and Drop FIM - Dakar Rally Navigation icons
Configure roadbook from imported GPX track, still requires manual waypoint placement.
    ● Header function with Miles, WP, Fuel mileage, altitude profile, start finish,
    ● “Virtual Pre-Run” Google Earth route flyover with synchronized roadbook,
    ICO, Compass display
    ● Utilization of Google Earth roads & routing function - snap track to road
    ● Saving/Sharing preferences: Private - Share with select friends - Public
    ● Fully searchable Route library - search by ratings, location, creator etc.
    ● Support for comments and ratings on each route
    ● Facebook Integration, sharing and authentication

Lots of work still to do. The end product should be fantastic.
