...Our Sunday rideout was bit different this week, it turned into a 'ride n fly' excursion.:huh

It's a bit weird when you leave Glasgow on a gixxer...and come back in a 'chopper'.

    My ride back :-

Hi Seb, I am ok thanks:thumb, I've felt better, but basically ok.

    Long story short :-

Downhill into sharp left-hander (see pic in previous posts) ...bike in front of Sarah slows more than expected, she hauls on anchors ..I must have been glancing in my mirror at the exact same moment, look up to see her bike just a few feet in front now and I'm about to hit her, grab a big handful of brake, rear wheel comes up in a huge 'stoppie' but I'm still going to hit her, so pull harder and next think you know I'm going over the bars with the bike flipping right over on it's nose.
On the good side I managed to avoid hitting her. :D.....

Took a big blow to the head which had me drifting in and out of consciousness, lying in road, ribs and back hurting, paramedics concerned that I might have broken my back and strapped me to a board in a neck brace and my head strapped between two blocks. Helicopter turns up and I'm flown out to hospital.
At hospital I'm checked out, my spine and arm (which has swollen up) are X-rayed. Good news is that I bounce well apparently and my spine is fine, nothing broken, just pulled ligaments / muscles and tissue damage, some missing skin and friction burns. - 'Jobs a good 'un'.:deal

Hi Kam, sorry to read of your misfortune, hopefully the bike isn't too damaged. I'll second Seb's question about the back protector, if you haven't already got one, get one, I never leave the house without mine now.
    Take it easy fella :-)

Heal well new friend. Always better a small crash than a big one.

And as you know, these bikes are dangerous. But if they were not, what fun would it be? :D

I'm disappointed you weren't hanging a hand out of the helicopter window taking some pictures.

    Hope you mend well. :freaky

Well, I would have to say that this is a first for me. I have never seen anyone capture their own helicopter ride to share with the rest of the world. Well done!! I am also assuming that the "hand out of the helicopter photos" will be up soon. :rofl

Glad to hear that it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Keep the ibuprofen (or other favorite pain reliever) in a candy dish next to the couch and get well soon!!

Looking forward to seeing you and and the bike back out on the road soon!!!

What a beautiful place to crash! I haven't checked on this thread in almost a year, and when I looked today...POW! Front brake catapults and helo rides. I'm glad you're OK

Ahhhhh, ummmm, The old throw the bike down the road in the autumn so you can buy a new one in the spring with the insurance cheque trick. I think having a buddy show up with a yellow helicopter and a bunch of friends dressed as medics was taking it a bit too far!

It took 8 to carry you to the 'copter, better lay off the chips my friend. Hope the camera hand is doing OK.

Heal fast, and thank you for not hitting Sarah. (boy would you have been in trouble)
