Bikeless as my R is in for a fuel pump replacement (recall) and service ... 1st time I've had to leave it at dealer Looking at pics for inspiration while I plan my May trip to VA/WV in a few weeks. Reversing Falls, ME
Bought an '11 DL650 (with a grand worth of farkles) for trade in price plus a hunnerd from a guy yesterday . It has a Givi monolock E450. So here's a Givi E370 and E450 photo comparison on a R12R for you to see if a 450 will make your bike look fat from the rear. They swapped from Givi mounts back and forth without a fuss. Both of these operate/latch the same. You do need the key to unlock it for the latch to work. I was hoping to be able to open it without a key but the key will only come out when it is locked. Safety first I guess. Givi E370: Givi E450: Side by side comparisons, E370 has the passenger backrest pad:
To me, the smaller one makes the bike look more top heavy, where the wider one seems lower. From the side by side pic they appear the same height. You can put more STUFF in larger one, too.
Hi everyone...my name is Don. I have just traded out an '06 883 with 3700 miles for a '00 R1100R with 94K. Dealer felt bad and gave me some money back too! Here she is.
Has a Russell Day Long seat and a slightly jacked Cee Bailey screen. Seems to run good. Found something that seems weird. Under the black plastic under the tank there appears to be a fuel filter. Is this normal, as I thought there was one in the tank. Only reason I ask it was a slight leak in the seam that is noticeable only when there is pressure in the fuel system. Is there a specific filter that is needed or just get one that fits? And thanks. Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk
One reason the filter was moved inside the tank was to eliminate vapor lock, which you've reintroduced to the equation. In hot weather, carry a bottle of water to cool the filter housing. Fred
Haven't been concerned with vapor lock since carb days. Could the external filter still be prone to it when fed by a high pressure fuel pump? Just wondering...
Either box looks good. Found the smaller of the two on Ebay and a mounting rack from another vendor on Ebay. Just waiting for delivery. Hope wifey likes her new back rest.
New to me, I bought the same bike in 2005 and sold it for a Harley. The only difference is this one is ABS.... Even the same dealer
I used to own this R1200R. Guy I sold it to must have traded it in. I did the fairing mount...very quiet and smooth. Perfect for this bike, IMHO...somebody ought to buy it. http://ebiz.netopia.com/diablobmw/store/view.nhtml?UID=268
Hi guys/ladies, So glad Advrider has a R****R thread. Will be reading through all the interesting stuff about this wonderful bike. Here's mine over a year ago in Tuxpan, Veracruz on my way to Guate. Cheers- After the trip, a little cleaner... still haven't gotten one of the TVIP stickers completely off though :) /URL]
