The Twist-A-Plate is designed to allow you to run your plate in the Vertical position when off road and in the Horizontal position when on the road to remain legal, now you can be Legal when you need to be! The plate is pre-drilled and ready to mount onto all KTM's with the Euro LED tail light assy, should also work great on the Husabergs with the same Euro Tail light setup. (Can be used as a universal setup on other bikes as well if you drill the corresponding 3 mounting holes onto your existing plate bracket) Each Twist-A-Plate comes with stainless steel mounting hardware and detailed mounting instructions, mounts up in just minutes! The Twist-a-plate is made from high impact UV stable ABS plastic that is very strong and durable. To rotate the plate you just pull the quick release pin, rotate the plate and re-install the pin....it's that simple. This is my second generation Twist-A-Plate. My first test unit used embedded magnets to hold the plate, while it worked great it was less secure than the current version. The 2nd generation unit has a larger/stronger pivot assy as well as the quick release pin that adds extra security. 3rd generation has an updated pivot pin and utilizes embedded magnets. Here's a few shots of the assy mounted on my KTM 530XCW as well as a short video demo of the unit. Here's a couple shots of the unit mounted on the bike And within seconds your in the legal horizontal position. From this To This...in seconds. And a short video demo of the Twist-A-Plate. <iframe width="640" height="360" src="" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> UPDATE...... The updated 3rd gen design includes..... * New sleeker profile *Lighter Weight *Stronger Pivot Pin Assy Updated pivot assy. Hodakaguy
Nice work!!! I am in for one for my 990A, I could use one before my plate disintegrates. Gravel has a way of chewing plates to little bits.
Does the plate just lock into position with the magnets? The swivel obviously has some kind of an anchor bolt or pin? If it's priced relatively cheap you'll sell a bunch.
Thanks for the comments. Not sure on pricing yet but I'm going to do my best to keep them affordable. I'm going to make a second version soon with a stronger rotating pin setup... I'll post up here with updates as they happen. Hodakaguy
I just finished the updated Twist-A-Plate design and now have them available for sale. I updated the original post at the top of this thread with current pics, pricing etc. Hodakaguy
Sorry I should have mentioned that I updated the original post at the top of the thread with the current info, pics etc. Hodakaguy
sweet looking mount.. Can you provide a photo of the mounting plate and associated mounting holes for fitting on another enduro bike? I would like to know if it will fit my TE630 .. Also the dimensions or distance apart of the mounting holes and over=all dimension of the entire assembly?
I'll try and get a few pics taken soon and posted up, would be good to know if it would fit your TE. Hodakaguy
Now that you've gone this far, how about making a model that flips the plate over, a la James Bond or Transporter... say, if one were to inadvertently pass through a speed camera, photo trap, etc.... perhaps with a small servo so it could be controlled from the handlebar.
After a long 2 day wait my Twist-A-Plate arrived in the mail. After re reading the extremely complete illustrated installation instructions I headed out to the shop. It took me longer to get the necessary tools and drill out than to mount everything. Fantastic idea, well made and complete with everything needed to install. Now all I have to do is remember to twist (the plate) when I get to the end of the pavement. Thanks for a well thought out and well made product! Everyone who rides off road should have one.
Here's a photo showing the back side of the Twist-A-Plate along with dimensions. If you have any questions please let me know. Thanks Hodakaguy
