    Hah!

All the tire, tools, etc in in the soft, soft grass just off to the right side there. Low traffic road, needed the center hump to get the rear wheel off the ground. The taller suspension needs a taller centerstand which I've not yet completed.

Yeah... I know... LOL! I spend too much time/money buying tools, riding and enjoying the hell out of myself to house hunt. I work overseas too so my time off is pretty valuable, :)

Got tired of having to drop the skid plate on my 990 to plug in the Shorai battery charger dongle so I called the guys at Anti Gravity to see what would fit my bike. They recommeded the 16 cell small case but it would have to lay flat to fit. Nope, not so much, the terminals hit the BDCW skid plate.

Thought about modifying the battery box to mount it upright but this would be a hack not an improvement.

Decided to make the Shorai pigtail part of the battery so I could leave it plugged in all the time. Used that Sugru air setting silicone putty to make a plug body.

Routed the pigtail through an existing hole in the side of the battery box...

...and tied it to the jumper cable connector so it is accessible in the same place.

Now I can plug the Shorai charger in when ever I want. Haven't figured out a connector condom yet but I recall seeing something that would work. Just don't remember where or what it was. Anybody got any good ideas here?

Then added a voltmeter up on the dash next to the GPS so I know what is going on with the charging system.
Had the VRR fail in Switzerland last year and didn't know it until the battery went dead on the Motorway. The bike gods were with me as it failed a couple of miles from a Harley dealer who found a KTM dealer for me. The KTM dealer took one off of a Super Duke on the showroom floor for me. That's great service from both dealers:clap

    Hi
I have just had my 06 990 dyno'd with a custom map (CPR and Ackras with short baffles),the Acra map was close but not spot on . The secondarys now are open and a seperate map for front and rear cylinders . + 8ft/lbs midrange and 5hp all over better than the std Ackra map. It is well worth getting it set up ,it's the same gain again then just putting on the CPR and the NOISE:norton

Cleaned and rebuilt forks, cleaned and regreased (mostly the top) the head bearings, retightened them. Tried to get off the fork fluid of the front brake.. This took me a lot of time. I had to take it all apart.. But now they are clean and shiny:) Almost better than new:)

    But it's so much fun:)

Still a long way to go (picture is before fork reinstallation) :

Thanks. It's mostly Highway Dirt Bikes with a bunch of home brew stuff.

    • One of our TAPP Panel Mount USB sockets on a home brew bracket at the top.
    • 2 Baryl 12VDC panel mount sockets in HDB Powerlet holes. One for tank bag power and the other for heated gloves.
    • Custom circuit board replaces HDB discreet switches and LEDs. I don't have a pic of the actual board but here's the CAD model
    [IMG]

Switches run a custom relay board in the glovebox switching power from an Eastern Beaver PC-8 fuse block. The relay board may look like I'm killing ants with a sledgehammer but all those headers and jumpers are fo some selectable control features for future use. I'm thinking of redesigning it to include full size ATO/ATC fuses. I found that there are places where mini-fuses are hard to find, i.e. Russia!

Here's what it looks like installed.

I swapped my locking glovebox for a early-style non-locking type. The locking mechanism took up too much room and made the PC-8 fuses too difficult to remove. No need for a lock. If the bad guys ever got into it they would just be confused. Plus it's covered up with my tank bag.

Is there a map for older FIs on CPR site? I didn't see one if so. I have a CPR on the way and I am little concerned about the map. I got a Tuneecu cable and software, but might just get her dyno'ed at some point.

The ideal setup would be to have Rowe make a version of the PDM60 that had four switch inputs plus a couple of non-switched circuits. Now THAT would be sweeeet. Get rid of the relays and fuses altogether.:clap

I have never seen one I believe the owner @ CPR runs the Dyno jet setup on his 990 from what I was told. For right now Im just using the Akro ti slip on tune with the 02 sensors on pry not optimal but works pretty good right now

Looking at the manual it looks as if that can be done. You can have any circuit be always on, or non-switched. And it appears as if the aux. wire can be used to trigger any of the circuits, which might not be exactly what you are looking for but might work.

Took the ferry to Nanaimo, road to Tofino. Found another use for the 990: wet suit drying rack.
