    Chasbo and Yascher both added.

Need a couple more and I will go ahead.

Should be about 4 weeks turn around once I set the ball rolling. I could do it faster but I'm tied up on other projects also.

OK everyone, I am getting another batch made so if anyone wants one, they should be available again sometime in May.

    :clap

Thanks to those that put their names down and followed through with pre-payment, it's quite a chunk of cash for me to fork out up-front so pre-payment is definitely appreciated.

I decided to replace the Uni Prefilter for all the reasons mentioned by Lyndon with one of his K&N kits. The Uni wasn’t particularly dirty, but after installing the K&N, I had to open the idle mixture screws another ½ to ¾ turn, which suggests to me that the K&N does indeed flow more air when clean.

To further enhance cold air induction offered by where the K&N is located, I modified the stock glovebox and cover with some additional fresh air vents.

PLEASE NOTE: These glovebox mods are NOT necessary for the Pyndon filter to work just fine. I made them primarily to help lower intake air temperature (1 F ~ 500-1,000 Ft in Altitude). Next, I think I'll insulate the airbox itself.

I probably wouldn’t recommend running the fully vented “Desert Mode” anywhere it rains a lot. Notice, however, I left the front part of the lid unvented to protect the fuse block from the occasional monsoon.

I’ll probably run the vented base and solid lid most of the time for my commute, except during the winter when it is cold and rainy, in which case, I will simply use the fully enclosed glovebox.

BTW, intake noise is more audible when running the desert mode cover compared to stock.

Thanks to Frank Wheelbarrow for the donor glovebox items from a 950.

Nice work, looks nice.....I'd just like to point out to everyone that this modification is not required. The filter works and breaths perfect without the ventilated covers. There is plenty of openings around the headstock for air to get in. Just didn't want people thinking they had to do this to their bikes to make it work.

Looks good, that's about it :D

    Agreed!

In addition to having the bits and pieces and the inclination, I modified the glovebox primarily on the premise that if cool, fresh air is a good thing, then LOTS of cool, fresh air is has to be that much better, at least during the summer.

And it really does look good!

Would you be upset if it was ruthlessly stolen and repeated?
