A few pics of a R1-Z, I stumbled across. Only 2,300 k/m on the clocks! They were only manufactured for a year '90-'91. Where had it been hiding since 1990?
I'd kill for that. Remeber when they came out. We never got them over here. Last of the two strokes (above 50cc) were the RZ350 in 84-85 (some places called them RD350LC) Well we did get the KE100 through the mid 90's, it was grandfathered in since it was an old design.

I remember riding one in Japan. I also remember being a lil dissapointed at the power output. Other countries called the RZ350 " YPVS " as the RD350LC was sans powervalve ( Think Banshee engine )
Spotted this R1-Z out in the Boonies. Looks like dude was doing a bit of touring on it. I prefer the stacked pipes personally.
What a bike! That guy must have been very pleased if the road was a little twisted, not to say if it was a mountain road...

In all countries the RD 350 LC (liquid cooled) was sold only 1981 and 82. It did not have YPVS. YPVS was added and the only years for the RZ350 YPVS in the US (due to California emissions) was 1983 and 84. Last year for the RZ350 YPVS in Canada was 1990 and in Brazil and Eruope I believe it was 1992.
84 and 85 for the RZ350 in the US. There were 49 state and California models with minor differences. I think there were some '83s not in the USA. The model number for the '84 and '85 is different. I used to have all the differences memorized but all I can remember now is the ignition module. The LC had a monoshock (triangulated swing arm like in the '70s) suspension and no powervalve. It was not sold in the US. The RZ350 was also called the LC ("elsie") in europe. I've seen an R1-Z grey market imported into California. Someone parked it next to my grey market RZ500 at Laguna. it's a cute little bike.
