I'm 5'7", 175# and the FJR fits me well. I really like the Norge but keeping two sport touring bikes isn't for me, I really couldn't part with the FJR. BMW's have several low seat bikes but I'd take a Guzzi before a beemer.
I'm not much into the BMW line...but I'd like to get a Guzzi. The deals on the left overs are just incredible. Still, I have a couple bikes, just no touring bikes. I might take a look at the FJR, but I'm kinda in a wait and see mode. Still, I had thought the FJR would just be too big...but, based on your input, maybe thats not the case. Yamaha shop is not far from my work, might have to head over and sit on one....
I was wondering how you got those nice photos, and they were very nice, framing quality. I saw both of those photogs a couple weekends ago when I made a run through the Sta Monica mtns.
Those are great shots. Most of the time I am the one taking the pictures and it is hard to stop and get a good shot.
sorry for the delayed response... test rode one back on 10-08 and yes I want one. found one just seems a little high on price and is my 2nd color choice black vs silver. what do my experts think? $9000.00 out the door tax and title. 4000 miles on the bike and was gently dropped on the left side. scuffed on upper fairing near handlebars. otherwise it is totally stock. also it's only about 3 hrs from home.
Seeing as how MotoInternational has several demo and new left overs (including two in your preferred color) for $9K and $10K respectively, complete with 2-year unlimited mileage warranty and never dropped, I'd be hard pressed to buy a used one for the same price. Shipping to you would add about $600 to the total, or you could fly to Seattle and ride her back (check out their fly and ride, free airfare deal). Just my 2¢ jdg
I agree JDG, but $8000. was my budget plus the tax and title. Would love to do a fly and ride, but getting a little late in the year for that as I'm in Ohio. I was told that it was dropped in the garage as opposed to being dropped at speed. still it's scraped a little though. thanks for the input all.
That budget number does change things a bit - if that's your budget, then it's a good deal for you. OTOH, if riding season is about over - do you think you could scrape together another $1K between now and next March? Dave might put one on hold for you. Probably still be similar deals then anyway (if it was me, I doubt I'd be able to wait however ) Good luck on your decision - you're gonna love owning one. jdg
I'm going in a couple of weeks to pick up an 07 Norge GT for the wife. I've searched the web, does anyone have links to frame sliders or cylinder head protection for the Norge?
Stucchi Luigi makes some crash bars. Available from MG Cycle: http://www.mgcycle.com/product_info.php?products_id=2119 Reviews on them are good over at Wildguzzi.com/forum Here's a "how-to" thread on the bars: http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=24419.msg370941;topicseen#msg370941
