1965 Honda S65 - $400 (Woodland Heights)

© craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap W. 26th St. at Semmes Ave (google map) (yahoo map)
I have this motorcycle for sale. Here is the run down. I bought it in 2009. I don't have a title for it. I bought it because i was told that it was a super simple motorcycle and I wanted to work on it. After not working on it for 5 years I took it to a mechanic who told me that I would need about $700 in parts (way more in labor) to get it fixed. So I'm not fixing it anymore. It is a complete bike but it needs a lot of work. Its also somewhat parted out (seat, gas tank, carb are off) but I guarantee that everything that you see in this picture is included with the bike. Thanks.
I just missed out on a 62 c100 exactly like yours in mint cond. for $200. The local cl ad was up for 15 min. and the guy said he had 8 calls. sold 1 hour later. Damn it
Not surprised it went quick! Sometimes people still put them up on craigslist way underpriced, then the race is on! My '62 is still a back burner project, probably a year out. Currently working on a '68 CL175 that was a little rough and not original color. Here's a before pic of it in the condition I got it. And after complete tear down, and new paint (going with the original Candy Orange) here's what it looks like as of yesterday after hangin' the engine back on.

Nice Candy blue K0 model jas67. That would have been sold in '69 as it has the fender reflector and '69 taillight. (retancgular taillight as opposed to the rounded corners of the '68 light.) I also have a K3 '69 model in Candy blue, which looks good with the white tank stripes.
Hmmmm. I thought all sloper CL175's were 1968, and that the 1969's were the first-year vertical motor bikes with the high fender. My bike is titled as a 1969. I assumed it was just due to the policy of the day, which was to title the year the bike was sold, not the "model year." I guess I'll cancel my plans to replace the tail light with the rounded corner one that I thought was correct for it. I had been assuming that the tail light was wrong. That also explains the fact that some of these have the front reflector, and some don't. I have a 2nd blue one, with rectangular tail light and the front refector, and an orange one with the rounded corners light and no front relector. These two other bikes are in rough condition, and are future projects.
I can only speak for those sold in the USA, in which you're correct that they were titled in the year sold. The K0 sloper came out in Jan '68 and was available at least up to May of '69, when the K3 was introduced. Honda really didn't care about Model Year until it was required in 1976. One of the things that helps pin down the year sold is that they had to meet certain DOT requirements regardless based on date of sale, which even had dealers updating things such as taillights and reflectors on models that were still on the show room floor when January came. The front fender reflector came out in '69 but was discontinued fairly early in the year because it didn't meet the height requirement which DOT had asked for. So then reflectors were moved up onto the top portion of the forks. So ergo, all Honda's with the front fender reflector are '69's, however not all '69's have the front reflector. Crazy, I know!:huh
Those 175s were the end of an era, and are some of my favorite old Hondas. FWIW, I got a brand new Honda CL350 in the fall of 1969. It was sold as a 1970, though, even though it was a '69 appearance-wise, and it did have the front fender reflector.
Pretty much done with the moderate resto on my 1965 ct200. Decided to just do a good clean up and leave the 50 year old patina intact. After tons of engine tinkering, a new plug wire/boot, and rebuild of the spark advancer unit seemed to do the trick! She starts first kick now. Having a blast cruising around the subdivision now. Still have new f/r brakes and a new chain to install, but those are easy now that I've sorted the motor.
Here's one I just finished up a few weeks ago. It's a '68 CL175 K0 "Sloper" in Candy Orange And the dealer brochure for that model Edit: Ooops looks like I may have posted this bike earlier in the thread.
