It has 1080 miles, EE skid plate and rad guards. Trail tech stator, rad fan and over flow tank. Grip warmers to. Got it for 4800. Rode a little in the woods today love the bike. I have to set it up for my weight. Feels like a real dirt bike not a dual sport.
I never did a writeup, but the short version is, I thought it was pure magic in powder in the right range of snow conditions, which was fairly narrow. Too soft and you needed more horsepower, too firm and it was weird. On hardpack like the trails I grew up snowmobiling in Northern New York, I'd rather put my eye out with a fork than use that thing. It crabbed this way and that grabbing ruts as it went along, it was f'in terrible. But it was really cool in the right snow conditions. For me, it's too much money for another high-hassle-factor condition specific sport, I already have enough of those, and I hate being cold. But I can see the attraction.
I was afraid of that! Looks like a really neat toy but I was thinking that it might be to unstable on hard pack. Thought it might be worth it if I could convert my bike and then have a sled without all the sled hassle. Proof is always in the pudding!
4800? ice deal! Uncorked? Do it! EE springs and you are ready to immitate David Knight. He ripped it up in Europe on a 530. It's not a dual sport...it's a street legal, off-road racer
I don't know? The bike has always been easy for me to start unless I do something stupid on it. What I do know is the kick start on my 530 is so tight the kick start will not even return to the top of it's stroke, I have to pull it to the top.
Well, that's not normal. KTMtalk.com will either have a thread on it or one of the gurus will put you in the right ballpark.

What kind of oil are people using? The Motorex stuff is $22/L here, but my sales guy (who was a national champion mechanic) said to run Shell Rotella. I am not sure which Shell Rotella to use though. I saw it at a parts store for $9/L. I know...another oil thread question.
Are you not worried that it's too slippery for the clutch? ( since Mobil 1 lacks the JASO-MA spec.) ...Not that I think the DOT spec'd. knobbies are any safer than the rest either
Golden Spectro 20w-50 here, both sides. It's half the price of Motorex at my shop, and the clutch seems to have better feel.
Oh, and meant to do a quick update on the rebuild as well. Bike runs great as ever, and a couple weeks ago I did a fun 500 mile trip, documented here: Worth checking out for the pictures that I did NOT take! Anyway, 500 miles later, the oil level did not measurably change. I feel confident in saying that things are sorted out.
Will the Dampened Wheel assembly from a 625/640 bolt right on the 530 keeping the brake rotor & sprocket aligned up ?? I'm thinking it will even though the 625/640 is right side drive with a wider rim.
The 620/625/640 hubs have the same width as your EXC-R, and any EXC and SX for that matter. 625's (SXC and SMC) didn't come with a cush hub however. 690 rear hubs will NOT fit, they are wider.
200 hours on my '09. It was consuming some oil, but nothing critical. Valves still in spec. Valve guide seals were on tight. Replaced anyway. Rings were needed, but not critically bad. All buttoned up and sounding nice. Love this bike!
