im really diggin the old pics. this whole thread has got me all fired up to get this thing going again. these older 600 or bigger dual sports make great, inexpensive, all around bikes for anyone not going for the latest and greatest. im sure this bike will do all i ask of it and more.

i have a thing for oddball bikes, saw this being neglected and had to save it. as long as it goes back together ok ill have less than 1100 in it. of course then ill need tires and...

its gonna be great to blast down any road or even the occasional easy trail:eek1
i can start it no prob when standing on it while its on the kickstand. down at the bottom of a slippery ohio clay gorge with no way out but up, maybe not so much. ill see how it behaves, but if its like my old nx650 or xl600 its probably gonna be too much for my skinny ass to have fun with in slippery offroad stuff.

ill let ya know when i get it sealed up and thumpin' again:D

as you can see in the pictures of Tudelum 48 there were 3 of us,he had the sp,i had the klr 600 and the tool man on the Honda, back in the day we talked a lot about getting some Dual sport bikes and the three of us starting looking for something that would fit each of us, i sat on the sp600 and it just wasn't what i wanted, the klr fit me lots better than the Honda or the Zuki , we could never ride the same brand anyway, it would have been too easy and easy was not what our friendship is about anyway.. it is kinda funny after all these years we still to this day we dont ride the same brand.. i ride a bmw r100gspd now, the tool man is sticking with his favorite brand Honda ..it makes for good friends when no one rides the same brand.. well it has for us..

Well when there wasnt Resturants everywhere we would eat at old country stores. Bologna and cheese would work with a Moon Pie. Sometimes Cheese and Crackers.

This was the front porch of a store somewhere in Kentucky. While eating our food a couple of old farts started telling us about a place we should go. Then this one guy said hell we cant send them there because a motorcycle cant get up there. HUH
So they finished telling us about it and we were off. This was where we were trying to go.[IMG]

i had one of those Nava helmets and while god was generous with most of the gifts he gave me, my nose is pretty grand. Needless to say, I could not close the windshield for my nose. this was when you mail ordered stuff from cycle magazine and could not return it. I had to donate it to my smaller nosed buddy and went back to my beat up moto4!!!
