Thinking about all the cities in Texas that I have ridden through with Cities in Europe as names, made me have thought- wouldn't it be cool to ride to and take a photo. of all the cities in Texas with European names. Here is my list: Edinburgh London Dublin Rhome Paris Athens Florence Geneva Manchester Moscow Naples Newcastle Has anyone of this forum done this yet? I am considering doing it. Any others interested in my idea? Any others not on this list that you know of?
A few of those were on my list. There may need to be a minumum size requirement. It seems that the Europeans who settled late in the original colony founded a town everytime they build three houses close together. In Fayette County alone Dubina, Freyburg, Hostyn, Lyons, Oldenburg, Praha, Waldeck, Warda and Wursten were all named for places that existed at the time of settlement. La Grange on the other hand was named after La Grange, Pennsylvania, the home of William Rabbs. This project could keep a guy riding for quite a a while.
The minimum requirement would be a hand painted, 100 year old Catholic church! Dubina, Praha, (High Hill and Ammannsville, though no European siblings). Another requirement might be good moto connecting roads, at least including a Piano Bridge... NFE
