Facebook is really where you need to go for current pictures. Might not even need an account to see the page. Search for "Friends of Formula 1 Austin Texas" on the main page.

Paving is well underway. Guardrails, barriers, runoff, grandstands, all are progressing nicely. The observation town thingy is starting to go up also. Tons of pics of all of this on Facebook.

well here then...this turn one pic is slightly newer and from FB. (the other pic was from COA's website)

Are the two areas with concrete beams going to be a pedestrian bridge over the track?

Appears to be lots of progress from those pics and video. Glad there'll be some elevation change.

    I don't do facebook either.

Those bridge supports look awfully close to the track. From the pics angle I can see a car nailing those uprights at a good clip.

    Agree.

Barrier and catch fence will most likely be installed. Especially after FIA safety inspectors come by if they have not done it in advance.

Do we even know if that's part of the racetrack itself :dunno

No chance they'd let supports be sited that close to the actual racetrack.

That was shot from a long way away with a very long lens.

I'm sure it's a trick of the camera.

The last two turns and the starting grid = the only part of the track that is left to be paved

The view from the turn one grandstands is going to be awesome!

    That hill is steep.
I think I would shit a little in my pants every time I approached turn one if I were going at F1 speeds.

Nope. Just because they build the circuit doesn't mean F1 will race there. Sincerely hope I'm wrong but there's plenty of past evidence to not feel 100% sure just yet...
