well, we have benn getting some rain last couple of days . very heavy in some areas. Yes it will be finished.
Facebook is really where you need to go for current pictures. Might not even need an account to see the page. Search for "Friends of Formula 1 Austin Texas" on the main page. Paving is well underway. Guardrails, barriers, runoff, grandstands, all are progressing nicely. The observation town thingy is starting to go up also. Tons of pics of all of this on Facebook.
yes they started paving in end of May / beginning of June (I think) <iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/EgaASUa8UzI" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" width="420"></iframe>
well here then...this turn one pic is slightly newer and from FB. (the other pic was from COA's website) Are the two areas with concrete beams going to be a pedestrian bridge over the track?
Appears to be lots of progress from those pics and video. Glad there'll be some elevation change. I don't do facebook either.
Those bridge supports look awfully close to the track. From the pics angle I can see a car nailing those uprights at a good clip.
Agree. Barrier and catch fence will most likely be installed. Especially after FIA safety inspectors come by if they have not done it in advance.
Do we even know if that's part of the racetrack itself No chance they'd let supports be sited that close to the actual racetrack.
The view from the turn one grandstands is going to be awesome! That hill is steep. I think I would shit a little in my pants every time I approached turn one if I were going at F1 speeds.
I just left Austin and the locals all seem stoked. I reminded my bro that we are bros and I get 1st dibs on the spare bedroom!
Nope. Just because they build the circuit doesn't mean F1 will race there. Sincerely hope I'm wrong but there's plenty of past evidence to not feel 100% sure just yet...
