Here's a few pics from yesterday's ride. SR might appreciate a few of the colors on the rock face. Nice drop offs on this road. A different perspective. SR rock porn! And to think the Mystery Rider went shopping, the CraneGuy stayed home, and Flid and I had to ride this one by our lonesome. Over 7,000ft and it was near 27c! Really good riding weather. See what happens when you get off the Mex #180 coast highway? Hey, Bob, when you come over, we'll ride this one, eh!
Let it cool off is a must, now CNN is blaming the Golf of Mexico because of a stranded ship in Progreso go figure
Let me introduce myself ... I AM a candyass who drives a GS and I enjoy Starbucks coffee immensely ... that said, this 59 year old granny who just started riding her BMW a year and a half ago and is a TOTALLY inexperienced cross country rider also enjoyed my 2 week trip from Yuma, AZ to the tip of the Baja Pennisula and back - I'm sure every bit as much as you enjoy your rides to where ever. There are all different types of bikes, riders and destinations and none of them disqualifies any other. To each his/her own! I drove my own speed and comfort level and stayed on road that fit my experience level - my trip took me totally out of my comfort zone and will be a treasure to remember the rest of my life - one I would imagine I will repeat again in the future.
Good job! If you had fun, that's ALL that matters. You rode into Mexico and had a great time. Welcome to the club. There are roads for every desire and skill level in Mexico, and they have Starbucks too. I've been to a Starbucks in Mexico and used their WiFi. You wouldn't catch me at a Subway down there though!
. Teaser pic. You simply wouldn't believe where we have been. St least I don't believe it. RR when we get back but thought I would share a few. View from El Oasis pool. Presa Zimapan.
. Unbelievable dirt roads. I thought I was gonna die on my pig bike Fantastic little one lane mountain towns. With the bridge out. Can you say "Oh. Shit. "? I know I can.
There are 2 GSs pulled up in front of our little hotel right now. (One eyed Jack has arrived) We don't have a Starbucks in Banamichi but we serve some fine Chiapas coffee. Candy Asses, smart asses - all are welcome here. (Dumb asses are ok in small doses.) Like we say -- just ride.
Yeah, I wish the Tourism department was paying my gas and beer! Pero son unos pinche codos ja,ja! Bato, when you come back, we'll do that ride you missed when you headed north. Andy is going to like this one, too. The rider who was with me is a visiting moto journalist and he had a lot of fun, we did about a 1,000 miles in 3 days at higher elevations and the weather has been fantastic, lately. But it was my turn to get that damn cough and cold that has still been going around. Lost my voice one morning. Carnaval is on but that means more time to ride as we have two days off for the celebrations.
Terrapinneck was our photog. The RR should be worth reading. The Biosphera dude came and told us we couldn't stay in the middle of the river. All we could do is laugh. Like we intended to be there. By the Way, the river crossing on the goat trail east of San Pablo in the Barranca Metztitlan east of Tolantongo is special sweet on a fully loaded GS Adventure. So I did part. Thelawnguy81 insisted he didn't want the trip to end ....so he finished it for me. Thank God.
I got it too. Started feeling tired on Saturday and thought it was just tiredness but started getting body aches today. Came home for lunch and did not go back to the office. Need someone to send me a stripper in a nurse's uniform to feed me soup. Great pics, SOG, glad you are having fun.
