I think it's probably based on the same flight physics (at least on the hard settings). I just finally got a computer fast enough to run it at good graphics settings (and the game is from 2002 -- that tells you what kind of computer I"ve been working with).

You can probably find a copy on ebay for about $10 if you want to check it out. :thumb

Stick n rudder + gun dogfighting. Fun stuff.

I have tried them all and like the original Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator the best. Go through all the campaigns and see if you can better your scores. Keep the auto rudder turned off if you want to be able to turn sharper and use yaw for better aiming.

I see the joystick has been getting a little dusty. Time to play a game. :D

I'll have to try it out sometime. I like FS2004 the best. I added ram and a better video card to make it work well. This still wasn't enough to make FSX work well. I keep all the settings on most realistic.

The night before last, I was practicing engine-out flying with the 737...putting one throttle back to idle shortly after takeoff and trying to make it back to the airport. After killing hundreds of passengers, I discovered that you just can't get into a low-altitude low energy situation and expect to power out with just one engine. You have to use kinetic energy to make the turns. What a hoot.

I went on a motorcycle trip there in 1984. I don't remember seeing that. Must have been added since then.

It's probably from a flying wing aircraft - just can't find the right one yet...

Based on construction material and shape, I vote Horton.
